Oakwell Country Park
The map wasn’t very clear and there wasn’t many spaced out across the park so we got lost. We did find our way back but ended up walking back to the car park instead of going up to the viewpoint. Still, it was an enjoyable walk after we went to Oakwell Hall. There wasn’t many seats spaced around much like the maps which was a shame. It was quite slippery but I am sure if you came in nice weather in the summer it’ll be fine. Lots of uphill walking.

Lovely place to walk the dog or take the kids for a walk. There is a playground with toilets nearby and lots of woodland walks between both car parks. Very close to the M62 so quite noisy in some parts but plenty of open space for running around on and having picnics.

Didn’t go into the house grounds as there was a wedding. The woodland walks is amazing especially with the dogs there is also a large open field so they can have a run around. It was very, very busy on a sunday lunch time and the little car park was busy! There is disabled parking available which is good and the little cafe is cute.Photo is the large field as you can see to say it was very busy the space is large so lots of space for running

I visited today with 5 children, during the summer holidays. It was very busy, but managed to get parked in the overflow carpark. This is not wheelchair friendly but the other two car parks are.The shop, and gallery area are all suitably accessible . We did not go in them. The toilets are clean and stocked well there is also a disabled and baby change in these facilities. The floor was a little muddy but outside was muddy. We were not visiting the hall or gardens today, there was a trail going on in the gardens, at a cost of a £1 per trail sheet .We walked down towards the stream, there are two ways one which is accessible , and one with stair's.The children had great fun exploring the pathways and playing in the stream. We sat at one of the many picnic benches and ate our lunch. We then had a run around the parklands playing football and frisbee .There are lots of dog walkers, so it is a great place for all the family and dogs to visit. All the children were very excited to go in the woodland play ground, they enjoyed building dens and playing on the slide and monkey bars. There is some broken equipment that has not been replaced for a long time now .There is also a fenced of playground with the usual swings , roundabouts and climbing frames. There is another larger car park down near the visitor center too.We did not go inside the visitor center but we did enjoy an ice cream and a cuppa. £12.40 for 4 cones and a tea. There are two toilets that are clean and accessible with baby change.

Great place to go for an hour or so's walk. Friendly walkers and dogs. The Hall is worth a visit. Not expensive to go in. Cafes and free toilets at both car parks. Gift shop near the hall. Children's play area by bottom car park. Accessible tarmac path from the bottom to the top- bit of a climb if you are pushing a wheelchair or buggy. Plenty of places to picnic.

We came here on Saturday morning to join in the Parkrun. It's a lovely scenic route to run on a mixture of different paths. The grounds are great with lots of woodland. The parking was free for parkrun and there is a toilet block too. There's a sheep sculpture in the grounds which is pretty cool too.

Not been here for years and nothing has changed. Lovely place for a ramble without being overcrowded. Lost star for the impromptu activity of dodging the dog poo on the track leaving the bottom car park.
