Packhorse Farm

Great campsite, with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The site is well arranged and landscaped - with sections surrounded by trees and tall hedges that break the area up into nice sheltered sections. The shower/toilet block was very well maintained (always nice and clean), well thought-out, and well lit at night. In a lovely area (we enjoyed a walk from the farm, through woodland, to a waterfall), so an excellent place to enjoy the countryside (and not far from the Peak District National Park), but also not too far from Matlock when needing to get food etc (although we were able to buy milk from the farm reception). We were pleased to be able to extend our two night booking to three - liked it so much there. Thank you Byron and Susan - we hope to be back again, and will happily recommend you to others.

Two parts to the site - a family orientated camping area and an adult only caravan area. Both are well kept and clean with good shower and toilet blocks. A nice place and Susan was very helpful.

We originally booked on the site for 2 nights but extended our stay by another 3 nights. A lovely site - ideal for children as there are hedged off areas where they are safe to play, away from traffic. The toilet and shower facilities were spotless and the staff were helpful and unintrusive. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed for 3 nights. just have got to say how helpful Susan was very helpful I will always camp at this site nothing is to much trouble can not beat it thank you gor our stay I was sad to have to go early but enjoyed our stay thank you both for our stay

John is the best person I found over there. He helped us out of the way when our car broke down a night before checkout. Best place for relaxing holidays .....very friendly people n lovely place.

Called at the last minute for a next day booking. Was really pleased to be booked on the site. Gorgeous place not too far out of Matlock . Immaculately clean showers loos and pot washing area.Lovely trees everywhere. The owners were fantastic and we would certainly recommend this site anytime. If you want to walk this area don't hesitate to book a lovely place with plenty things to see and do.

Packhorse Farm Campsite is such a hidden gem! I'm so glad I found this site last minute in the summer holidays. Lovely pitches, with clean and well maintained facilities. The drive up to the area is lovely with great view across Matlock and Riber Castle.

Fantastic place to stay, Susan very helpful when booking giving advice on setup on site. Website map makes it easy to decide which pitch you want. Clean and tidy site, lots of pitches to choose from. Toilet and shower block very clean and disabled/family shower and toilet. Short drive to Matlock, great pub nearby and even takeways delivered to the site!

owners very friendly the camp site kept clean and tidy only fault was the seasonal caravaners who take upon themselves to police the site making rules up to suit themselves
