On Course South West

The tutors that run the courses have been excellent, I cannot recommend them enough. The increase in fees that has occured this year is ridiculous. They are now four times, yes, four times, the price they have been for the previous two years with the only explanation 'inflation'. Yes that has impacted everything, not by a factor of four though

I did the Excel Improvers course. Although I had a rudimentary understanding of Excel, I was very aware that it offered far more functionality than I was using. I use Excel a lot at work and wanted to exploit the full potential so as to make it's use easier. This course has been superb and has really made a significant improvement to our workplace efficiency.

I am currently taking part in a Water Colour Painting Course for beginners. Our tutor Jane is second to none. She started by introducing us to all other participants which encouraged a communal and social atmosphere. As we were mostly mainly beginners there was no sense of competitiveness and we were given an extremely comprehensive kit to use for the course.After basic instruction we were asked to put our first attempts of a given watercolour to paper. At the end of our first class we very shyly showed our attempts to the class. The oohs and ahs were remarkable.. Jane concluded by giving us a subject to paint at home during the week to hopefully be admired and discussed at the next class. It was great fun and really felt that I had learntsomething. If anyone out there is interested come and join us you will find it very rewarding.

A great introduction to woodworking , lots of practical tuition

Attended a drumming for fun" workshop with Tim. Well organised in this pandemic era and Tim was fantastic. Learnt so much in just 2 hours. Can now bash out a couple of tunes on a Djembe drum which I had never heard of before the workshop. Well done guys."

Brilliant done 3 courses now tile painting. Decoupage and screen painting. All tutors was excellent and such good quality lessons to learn creative crafts. Brought home my art work to be proud of too.Shame prices have to go up as some people enjoy low prices to enjoy and learn the course they want to go on. Our government again I believe but it is a disappointment as low prices make more customers and students. Maybe some special offers will come up. Let me know as enjoyed all my courses with my partner. Got us out and made some friends and the tutors are all lovely I met so far. Gemma, Lu, Maggie thank you and to the office staff too.

French beginners. Superb course to start you speaking French at a basic level. The instruction is excellent. A very friendly and well presented lesson. Interactive and inclusive at all levels. Highly recommended.

My wife signed me up for a course with On Course South West entitled Protecting Natural Resources Bootcamp. I was initially hesitant as I have had to take time out from employment over the past five years due to a life threatening illness.My previous roles have all been at a very senior level within white collar employment and I served as an officer within a senior army regiment.My initial hesitation was quickly dispelled when I met my fellow course attendees and the wonderful staff at Pool Farm. This course has taken me back to my roots and has given me additional skills within ecology/countryside management and evaluation that have now allowed me to work with the Pool Farm tree nursery as a volunteer and become a Volunteer Ranger for the National Trust.I couldn't rate the team at On Course South West highly enough and I thank them for the opportunities they have opened up for me.

I have just completed the Make and measure- beginners crochet course. It was just what I needed to get started learning how to crochet. Andy was a great tutor and was very patient going over things until we understood. Would recommend this course to anyone wanting to start crocheting
