Shepherds Hut Bilsdale

superb cozy and well equipped accommodation in a perfect location, views across the valley and idyllic walks from the door. Friendly and enthusiastic hosts and the hut offers delightful space full of character, a bit different to the normal b&b. BiIsdale itself is delightful, never busy, a secluded gem.

Perfect romantic weekend getaway - amazing views and surroundings. So cosy with the log burner and ideal that the kitchenette was attached. Breakfast hamper is a must! Would definitely recommend

Just returned from our second stay at this cosy and well equipped Shepherds hut that we have fallen in love with. It is the perfect place to escape from the rat race and chill amongst nature. The views are spectacular, the wildlife surrounds you, there are beautiful walks and the most welcoming hosts in Fiona and Stephen. We have used our stays to completely escape from the rest of the world but if you are looking to use the accommodation more as a base there are some great places to visit in the area.It’s really important to appreciate that this is a remote working farm so if you prefer spas and/or nightlife this may not be the place for you. If you like cosy nights snuggled by a log burner reading a book and waking up to the sights and sounds of the countryside and farm then you won’t find anywhere more idyllic.The past few days were extra special as it is lambing season and we were privileged to witness the births of several lambs and share in the highs and lows of sheep farming. It’s always bitter sweet when a lamb can’t be kept with its mother (there are many reasons) but from an entirely selfish human perspective, it did mean that lamb cuddles and bottle feeding were part of our stay and an experience to be cherished. These lambs will become their own little family and as they grow will progress from the “nursery pen” to their own little field and barn right behind the shepherds hut where they will delight guests and happily accept your love and attention. We already have plans to return and see how they are getting on.I can’t recommend this particular shepherds hut enough. If I could give it more than 5 stars I certainly would.

Outstanding place to stay for a few nights peace and quiet. It is small and basic comfort and the small adjoining barn conversion provides a really good kitchenette and a shower /toilet. The hut has a very efficient wood burner so no chance of being cold! There are loads of walks nearby / direct from the farm so great for hikers. Just be clear you will be on a working farm so be prepared for lots of animal encounters. We loved it and will definitely return.

We have stayed here twice and have booked again in the new year. It is a beautiful little hut and we love going in winter and having the wood burner lit. Fabulous welcoming hosts and loads to do in the area. Absolutely 5 star - love it!

Fantastic, we loved our stay here . The hut was so well appointed and cosy . It has everything you need . We especially loved the small woodburner .We loved the animals - Tip the sheepdog, the hens, ducks and the cows . The views are beautiful There are lots of local walks . The location is great within easy driving distance of Stokesley and Helmsley . The owner Fiona was most helpful and friendly and provided us with a generous breakfast hamper which was fabulous including local black pudding and her hens eggs !Great value for money . Can’t wait to return .Stephen and Helen

Came here with my wife for a quiet weekend escape.We was not disappointed, what a beautiful 'hut', so peaceful and quiet. To have the well equipped kitchen, large shower and toilet literally next door was a welcome bonus.The hut was lovely and cosy, especially with the log burner on. ( We didn't really need it on as it was quite warm but we didn't want to miss out on the experience of a log burner in a shepherds hut!)No tv, (which was great) but who needs it when you have such beautiful countryside views dotted with sheep,cattle and with birds flocking to the food station looking outside of your window..The breakfast hamper was great,( where do you get those sausages from? They were really nice.!)Thanks again for a wonderful experience and we will be coming back next year. Fiona? We have just returned from a 3night stay at the shepherds hut. Most welcoming hosts & fantastic views. The hut, kitchen & bathroom immaculate. Definitely would recommend a stay here. Better than any 5 star hotel. We will be returning.

Stunning scenery, food hampers available & great walking from the doorstep Bilsdale moor is right at the back of the farm. Nice small Wood burner too. Amazing place.

Amazing little place to unwind and relax. Fiona and Stephen were great making sure we had everything we needed. Woodpecker visited regularly and cows kept us entertained to say the least. Hut is cosy and comfortable. We will definitely be booking again. Thank you for a wonderful New Year xx
