Enterprise Car & Van Hire - Skelmersdale

Collected a rental Hyundai i10. Car is spotless and staff were super friendly, helpful and spot on. Have used these before and will use again. Well recommended.

We rented a car for 5 weeks, we were on holiday from Melbourne Australia visiting family & friends. Joy from the Skelmersdale branch went over and above to ensure we were totally happy with the car , she was very professional and we can’t thank her enough. Highly recommended.

I only went to pickup my daughter as she was taking the rental back, but have used them before staff was helpful even gave me some sweets, while I waited for my paperwork.

As I write this I am sat here with my wife in rented accomodation, we should be in our new home. This is 6 days after I had pre-booked a van with Enterprise Skelmersdale.I pre-booked a Luton Van giving Enterprise plenty of notice. I attended on the day at the allocated time 1650 to collect it. There was no vehicle, staff had attempted to source one all day (again, they had plenty of notice) after a wait way past their closing time and still no sign of it I asked again where it was. I was told stuck in a jam on the motorway. My wife and son had been sat outside in our car in sub-zero temperatures for some time, the branch office was no warmer. Considering if it ever turned up I would still have to wait for the vehicle to be checked over on return etc. I decided to canel. We were supposed to be loading up that evening and moving to our new home the next day, family had also taken time off work.There were two other customers in the Skelmersdale branch....another gentleman had to drive over from the St Helens branch as they failed to provide his pre-booked van...another lady was having great difficulty in renting a car from them.I blame myself for giving Enterprise a second chance. Some weeks ago I rented a van from them for the first time, it was booked for 0800....I drove away at 1100! The van was filthy, broken indicator lens, drivers window did not work, rear tyre was under inflated and the tail-lift kept on getting stuck!I do not expect this from a company as large as Enterprise!

Used this company for several years for business hires. We had a great relationship with the Skelmersdale Branch for a long time, they had some really good managers in there who would provide us with a really good flexible service - namely, Joy Shaw, she always went the extra mile and was a credit to the company.We were spending thousands every month on Van hires.A culmination of poor management, an absolutely shocking central booking system and fabricated damages to vehicles (which would often get sent to us days after a van had been returned) has led to us not using this company any more. One of the final straws was being accused and billed for putting Ad Blu in a fuel tank?????? Absolute madness, we are a 17 year established removals company with experienced staff. None of our vehicles use Ad Blu, we use company fuel cards, and after thorough investigation there was absolutely no record whatsoever on our account of any purchases of Ad Blu.The branch has a really high turnover of staff, it seems to be a bit of a stepping stone for graduates going through a management development programme.We had a situation a couple of months ago and we were absolutely desperate for a van, our new company we have used had nothing available, so we contacted the Skelmersdale branch as a last option - and was abruptly told that they would not hire any vans to us anymore! Absolutely shocking level of customer service from such a large company.As I speak we are currently contesting a £370.86 charge for a bulge in a tyre! Again - it's pot luck when these defects get spotted on the walk arounds and who gets the short straw and the blame for the damages.

We are having bad experience as we had to rent a car and as soon as we got one we realised that there is a loud sound and vibrations coming form front tyres, the sound is extremely loud when driving on the motorway. We tried to reach Skelmersdale branch where we got a car from but couldn’t reach them all day ,we went there to ask for help, and the attitude they gave to us was shocking, they refused to help and just told us to go to tyre service and try to fix it ourselves. I believe we should have received the car in usable and safe condition not to run around and try to fix the car we’re renting out. We did took a car to tyre service but same issue appeared again, can’t reach branch again, car is still with us, don’t feel safe to drive it but we are in situation where we don’t have a choice as we have to go to work while our own car is in service, but can tell for sure that due to this situation and attitude won’t use this service again.

Disgusting, shocking and DEADLYHow they can hire a car our in this condition with 3 bald tyres one of which you can see from the pictures had holes in it. It is a miracle someone was killed.
