My friend and I went out, we didn't have a reservation but we were able to get a table for 2We had a great time, the service was really good also the food was very tasty.Car parking was no trouble at all. When we were leaving it started to get busy, so yes I would recommend this place.

I had spoken and discussed the stay from booking , through confirmation of orders with you on several occasions before the visit and your interactions were all friendly, helpful and accommodating. You even phoned to confirm times when I inadvertently put 16:30 rather than 16:00 and I was able to update you re 1x cancellation. Again a really helpful call . You agreed I could drop our joint birthday cake off earlier on the day and that took a little more pressure off, of me. On arrival you identified my cousin and I and led us to the dining room and once seated very efficiently served all 32 of us quickly and efficiently despite us having ordered off, of different menus. As well as those of us that had also had the additional festive drinks included. There was just the right time between courses and I was exceptionally pleased with how well you did things, the food was delicious but for me that was topped on the day by how great you and your people were! Even down to bringing my cousin and I to a central spot and bringing the cake in having added candles ( that I just hadn’t thought about) Again when we all came to pay in individual families you were kind, friendly and patient. Even to putting some tables together for us in the bar afterwards so family that had come from across the country could chat in comfort. So all in all, what a fabulous group of people you have working together. I can’t say enough about our visit and the quality of the food served. You couldn’t have done any more to be helpful or accommodating, Thank you , you really did add shine to our celebration - Karen

Staff were very friendly. Food was so tasty and very nice. I had lamb and hubby had steak. I actually told my husband i'm dumping him for the chef and didn't matter if male female or non binary haha. But i had to change my mind by the end of the night as my husband had the door key. Hey ho, i will be back for the chef another day or maybe just the yummy food. Really enjoyable night. Thank you.

We had the lamb rump and the three cheese and mushroom pizza and it was absolutely gorgeous! Coming from a pregnant lady I could've eaten it over and over again. The service was lovely from entering to leaving. Felt very welcome and highly recommend to anyone.

Had a lovely trip to Sheffield from Brighton and came across this pub as it wasn't far from our hotel.What a gem! Staff were amazing, everything was reasonably priced and the roast dinner was hands down the best I've ever had at a resturant/pub. Absolutely outstanding! I wish I didn't live so far away!

The food was nice, but the service was poor. Took 1 1/2 hours from being seated to getting a starter. Had to then wait for the vegetables after the main course arrived, which was going cold whilst waiting. Only prompt attention from staff, was the waitress bringing the card machine over, within seconds of giving us the bill. Will not be in a rush to return.

Pork belly & scallops for main , incredible again and pavlova for dessert …. Yet again incredibleCredit to the chefs as all food was piping hotService was awful though , probably 7 tables in the restaurant and the servers just wondering around , was sat with empty glasses on the table for at least 15-20 minutes before I got someone’s attention to ask for a drinkOrdered 2 starters but only one came out until we told someoneProbably try again based on the food aloneBut basics like check backs on tables are surely a must in this day and age and none of that here

We arrived early for drinks and enjoyed the side bar area for half an hour or so. Bar staff were welcoming and friendly. We were seated at 7pm on time and in a position that suited the two of us. The service was prompt and just enough time left to decide. The food was excellent and both dishes were beautifully presented and delicious. Unfortunately we had no room for dessert! Maybe next time?

Service was very good, helpful and and friendly. Lower Restaurant, where we were seated, has a nice ambience.Only criticisms are that the roast potatoes and some of the vegetables were a bit leathery and the pudding took a long time to arrive . ( had to remind waitress after 20 Mins)
