The Park Café
We do enjoy the coffee, and they do nice cakes.The reason for the 3 star review is down to just one member of staff that we hope is never there but always is.How can we sit and relax there when our first experience each visit, is with someone who is that rude and disrespectful, that we’d rather not go anymore because we’re at the point where we want to avoid her that much?

Lovely cafe, as others have said the lunch menu is a bit limited but the portions were very generous and the food was bought out quickly despite it being busy. I would recommend and go back again. There is also a small car park behind the cafe which gives a small refund on parking charges for cafe customers.

It's a nice cafe, the food is good and its good to see it is still doing well. I think this is a great thing for Kirklees to take note of as well.This old greenhouse was falling down at one point. They fixed it up and re purposed it to prevent it standing derelict like most of our council owned spaced. Judging by the current state of the rest of the town centre, this seems to be a one off, so we are lucky to have it.However like the rest of kirklees it is terribly managed by the council. I was hoping to book the greenhouse cafe for a large event, but nobody answers, the switchboard are clueless to who deals with it and the one email i could find nobody responds too, is impossible to speak to anyone.

Overpriced, £5.99 for a child's lunch box which contained a blue riband, pom bears, pre made tuna sandwich and cheap orange juice. Staff aren't welcoming or friendly and it took 15 minutes to bring the child's lunchbox with no apology. My biggest issue is the staff, very miserable and condescending to customers who happened to que at the wrong side

Very limited menu, staff are not exactly helpful and the lady who served us was very rude and tutting. Most things I wanted to eat were unavailable at 1.30pm as they had run out, plenty of staff but the floors were very dirty, whilst the gluten free option was good for my mother for my allergy it was a lot more difficult. Having eaten here before and struggled as they put dressing on my salad even though I had explained my allergy they were reluctant at that time to change my salad so sad to say even though the building is lovely I won’t bother again

Lovely, great place to go with the kids for a bite. Spacious indoors with plenty of tables and chairs and a really nice sun spot outside with sun umberellas on hot days. Great access to and from the park if your making it a day out. Staff very helpful, would highly recommend. Plus it's open until 10am-4pm during kids holidays so no rushing about to get food in for the kids.

We've been waiting for this to re-open for a few months and were so excited to finally be able to visit!The portions are a very good size, the pricing very reasonable (considering there is practially a captive audience!) and the conservatory itself has been beautifully restored.It is well worth a visit! It is accessible for wheelchairs and prams, we saw lots of families around while we were there. The only potential downside is that children's squeals do tend to echo quite a bit due to the size and structure! Still, I nearly squeales when the cake came out so I can't complain!

This cafe is great to visit in the summer. The coffees are delicious and it's great to sit and look out. I had a breakfast sandwich which was delicious. It came with salad which I found a bit odd but the dressing was nice. I would recommend after a walk (or run!) in the park
