Very nice food, can’t complain about the price with the portions, we did have to wait for a little while before receiving food, and sometimes felt a bit rushed, but that may have also been due to the time.

Visited Spice Bistro last night (15/7/2023) and was a two and a half hour round trip for us.We had fond memories of this place from maybe a year ago, when we called in on the way back from Manchester to Sheffield, it wasn't out of our way at all.Previously I think it was a week day and pretty quiet, the two of us and two other small tables being served.Last night, I suppose being a Saturday night it was packed to the rafters. Extremely noisy, like a rugby players night out, but it wasn't a rugby players night out, it was just really noisy. This was from a table of maybe a dozen eaters. Not a massive problem at all, no swearing or misbehaving, it's just we were left having to virtually lip-read to get a sentence across. I guess this is down to the place being so small, when it's full it's like you're all sat on each others laps.Now, when I booked the table a few nights previous, I asked if it was okay to have a nice discrete table, tucked out of the way, yes sure no problem. Our table was set central the the room, on its own, which was a bit weird. All the other tabled encircled ours if you can imagine. Think along the lines of those old westerns where the stage-coach settlers are surrounded by circling Indians, it felt a bit like that. Made us a focal point for every other table. Quite uncomfortable.The food, as last time, tasted great, nice spiced lamb chop starter, then Lamb Madras. The portions however were abysmal for the Madras. We're talking 5 tiny pieces of meat around the size of a thumb tip. A table spoon full of meat I suppose. Not an ample meal to follow a 90 minute drive for £72.Staff were helpful and polite for a full house, but we were definitely in a better frame of mind on the previous visit, portions were 3 times more, and we didn't feel like a spectacle where we were sat.If passing or local, probably OK.For a special extended travel visit, no chance.

Had a lovely meal. Great quality food & flavours. Service was very attentive, maybe slowing it down a bit would be better. Would definitely visit again.

The food is amazing at this place. Every dish I tried on our football meal was exceptional and the Bangladeshi cuisine was second to none. I will definitely be going here again. Warm hospitality and pleasant atmosphere, I found the place very relaxing.

***UPDATED REVIEW***Since the initial review I have been chatting with the owner, Naz.Naz has been nothing but apologetic and honest with his response to this review and has subsequently offered to personally prepare the meal again for us.Based on the way he has handled this I have altered the star rating to 5. This is a business owner who genuinely cares! Not many people would go to these lengths.Thankyou Naz !- - - - - - - - - - - -Was OK. We've had better but also had worse.Good points: Fast and efficient service on the phone and during collection.Naan breads and rice were lovely and generous sized. Poppadum and pickle tray also good..Bad points: Found the curries a little bland. Not the worst in the world but could be better. I'm not an expert on Indian cuisine so can't really say much more.Tandoori mixed grill was tasty but for £15 I'd expect a little more. 2 small chunks of chicken and lamb, a chicken leg, lamb kofta and a single prawn didn't seem a lot for the price. Which is a shame because they were tasty.For a little under £50 we were somewhat underwhelmed. Maybe they were having a bad night as the majority of the reviews are excellent! Maybe we will try again but next time eating in?

Absolutely love this restaurant. Best naan I've tasted, and the tandoori is perfection on a plate (or, in the case of the mixed grill, a board - try it!)The staff are beyond lovely and clearly care about the restaurant and its customers. The premises feature a double height ceiling, yet retains a warm atmosphere. If you'd rather opt for a takeaway, you won't have to wait long.In short, get a curry and a Cobra from this place and you might soon find yourself compelled to leave a review that sounds like it was written by the owner's best friend.

Brilliant night. Although, my lamb Roganjosh tasted like lamb in tomatoes. No real Roganjosh taste. Not at all spicy. All other food I had was delicious.
