We booked Alan to play the pipes at my mother in law's funeral and I have to say that he did a fantastic job. He piped her from the gate's through the cemetery to the church and it was very emotional to hear but Alan helped us give her the best send off we could. I would definitely recommend Alan as he is a very friendly guy and he can really handle the pipes. Thank you Alan.

Alan was very friendly and helpful with picking the right songs and made a huge effort with our guests. We had a wedding party in Liverpool and Alan had the bagpipes singing and really got the party started in style! What a gent! So talented and a really friendly guy!

I hired Alan to play at my mums funeral, he did a brilliant job. He turned up in really heavy rain and played us down from the gates to the chapel doors, then into the chapel and played us out again.My mum was Scottish and we thought that this was a nice tribute to her.Alan played Loch Lomond, flower of Scotland and Amazing grace, all of which he played beautifully.He's a really nice guy too, a real character and mingled and chatted with people at the wake. Hi booked the bagpiper on for my father inlaws birthday 86 th . He played very well but his behaviour previous thr week before was very strange he was texting my wife 4 to 5 times a day .which I found strange I arrived at the resterant and he was stood outside and told him who I was I was trying to explain it was surprise for my father in law and did not want him to see . I tried to explain what was planned nothing seem to sink in to him .he saw the cake and to my amazement he was trying to open the box to get at the cake . The staff at the restaurant said he behaviour was off putting . I tried to explain to him what was organised nothing was sinking in .We've had the same issues as Cathy Monroe he came over after playing while we were having food he was over friendly with wife and dad he again asked for cake . He had some and he said he was having food and left at that . To our amazement the staff asked us for his number has he's. Had food and not paid for it . It was over £45 of food for him and his wife . It was embarrassing for me and his wife .weve been goin there over 20 years .its embarrassing towards us he only played for about 10 muns and for the price .HIS BEHAVIOUR ALL WAY THROUGH HAS BEEN TERRIBLE.AND HE SAID HE BEEN ON CORONATION STREET . WARNING TO ALL I NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PERSON TO ANYONE .To have a meal without paying is not rightWARNING NEVER USE THIS PERSON AGAIN

If you want a first class professional service, an Excellent Piper, Alan Gagan is the man for you.He played at my Mother’s Funeral and his performance was amazing. My wife and I received numerous comments complimenting his tribute to my Mum. Once again, “thank-you” Alan. You made a very sad day so very special in our memories.

I hired Alan for my brothers funeral to play the coffin in to the church before the service and out again afterwardsWe communicated via email and I was a little taken aback when after arranging the details he asked “Am I ok for a drink and a bite to eat after the service?”I explained that we had a further service at the crematorium after the church before the wake and that it would be a private family occasion and it would be over an hour between them but I would happily include extra money to cover a meal and a drink for him in his paymentAlan was at the church when we arrived and played the requested music beautifully as the coffin was carried into and out of the church after the service as agreed. He had insisted on cash payment which i put in an envelope (with an extra £20 to cover a meal as I had promised ) and I asked my sister in law to pass to him as I knew I may not get a chance to approach him personally on the dayHowever, as my brothers coffin was being placed back into the hearse for the journey to the crem he began loudly calling for me to the surprise and bemusement of the hundreds of family and friends present outside the church so I could pay him myself!I again explained that the wake would be over an hour and a half later and was a private family event so there was extra cash in the envelope for himWhen we arrived at the club for the wake to my shock Alan was already there before any of the guests arrived, eagerly waiting for the buffet to open!He grabbed me in an inappropriately long and awkward hug and began literally quizzing me on the details of my brothers death, the family names and relationships and who was who in the roomI tried to explain that I had to greet the rest of the mourners and also as a form of escape from the totally awkward and unwanted attention he was giving me but he followed me and stayed glued to my side as I made my way around the room until he saw the food being unwrapped by the venue staff which is when he ran first to the buffet table to load up a plate for himself, even excitedly telling the newly bereaved widow that the food was open!It became quite clear that Alan was there for as much free food as he could possibly eat, returning to the buffet to load up another plate at least 5 times! He seated himself on a table with close family members of mine who had absolutely no idea who he was and no desire or inclination to deal with his questioning about their deceased, recently interred relative!He stayed at the venue for over 2 hours before leaving with yet another fully loaded plate of cakes and goodies from the children’s table!I was absolutely mortified that the bagpiper I had selected carefully given all his amazing reviews and advertised credentials had behaved in such a way that I have had to apologise repeatedly to family members and friends who had all noted his unseemly antics on the day!I think in future we will stick to recorded music instead of hiring a bagpiper at any occasion

Alan was our lifesaver . He kindly stepped in last minute at our cubs burns night when we were let down by someone. He was engaging with the children and his performance was great. Thank you.
