We did not stay in the Wentworth Arms, but if the warm welcome from all staff and friendly atmosphere we received having a meal is carried through to your stay .. then I fully recommend. The landlady was amazing and so helpful and understanding, changing things for my mum...she was absolutely fantastic with my mum who has Altzheimers. All our meals were outstanding, full on yummy! The whole experience was made comfortable and special... that extra, made such a difference.Thank you The Wentworth Arms!

Visited a few times, service has been wonderful and very speedy. Pizza was delicious and very cheesy just how we like it, one tiny quibble, although all we ordered was very tasty, I would love a little extra punch to the food but that’s just my preference

An overnight stop. Our room was clean but in real need of maintenance. Single glazed, draughty windows on a busy road did not contribute to a restful sleep. Very tired decor and the bathroom was tiny and very poorly maintained. Rusty old radiator, shower head had more limescale on it than a 10 year old kettle, so much so we decided not to use it for health reasons. The wall to the adjoining room was paper thin, hence we could clearly hear their television up to 11.30pm also assisting to a very poor night's sleep. On the one plus point, the breakfast was good, served by a lovely, cheerful young lady.A very tired establishment.Would we stay here again ? No

A comfortable traditional village inn. Great value and a good place if you want somewhere unpretentious, relaxing and friendly. A proper local village inn, excellent beer and classic pub food, I enjoyed my pie. Recommended

Very disappointing to be honest. Firstly I know this place is only 2 stars, but the stairs up to the rooms is broken on some steps. The room we had, number 2 looked decent, but the pull out sofa bed was absolutely awful. No padding on the mattress and creaked massively. We felt every metal runner and woke up with bad backs both mornings. The radiator in the bathroom needed some painting and the shower needs a new shower glass and re grouting.Breakfast both mornings was shocking. Advertises full English, but one sausage two rashers and an egg is not full English. My cousin stayed the same nights and one morning her and her son had dead flies in their egg.We weren't asked on departure how our stay was, but the staff probably heard us talk enough about it.The only saving grace was that we had a meal on the first night which was nice and good value for money. And rhe bar staff were nice.We won't consider staying here in future.

Fantastic find! Staff were lovely and food was delicious. We stayed overnight and had a Lovely room for 3 - we had 2 single beds and a double sofa bed, tv, kettle, hairdryer and bathroom - shower was very slow but it was warm and clean so not complaining. Breakfast was included in the price of the room which was a fry up, cereal, coffee and orange juice!

Love staying here. We normally stay here 3 nights at a time whilst we go to Flamingo Land for a couple days, really easy to get to from York train station, 840 bus literally drops you off at the doorstep. Really easy to find as well, definitely can't miss this beautiful building, never seen anything like it.Whole place is lovely and clean, fresh bedding and towels supplied. Little tea and coffee bar in the room as well, nice if you fancy a cheeky cuppa. Very friendly staff upon entry.Breakfast in the mornings are fantastic as well, between 8-9. Can't go wrong with a fry up in the mornings like, lush. And for evening tea time you can't beat a bit of pub grub and a pint, worst part is trying to decide what you want to eat lol.Honestly can't fault this place, it's always a pleasure to stay and have never had any issues. And absolutely looking forward to our next stay over :)

The pub serves an excellent choice of beers and is very fortunate to have very attentive, polite and friendly staff. The food was fine. Sadly the room number 1 is along side the main road and traffic noise is horrendous from early morning. The window in the room needs something to shut the noise out, perhaps secondary double glazing, which might help. Finally the radiator thermostat was damaged, causing the room to become unbearably hot. Not a good night's sleep. If these problems were sorted, it would have been a happy stay over. Don't get me wrong, it really is a lovely pub.

Went for the first time in July. Good location, nice exterior, cosy and friendly pub. Good range of drinks (including hand pulled Tetley's) at reasonable prices. Excellent food and again very fair prices. Hard to pick a highlight on food but probably jam roly poly. Room very clean. Will definitely go again when travelling to the area.

Awesome place, the pub is so warm and welcoming with great prices. The hotel rooms are just what you need and it is very quiet over night, cannot fault them with all the necessary facilities and very reasonably priced.
