I recently won a small lot from Morpeths Auction House. I was in Spain on holiday at the time.I live in Emsworth, Hampshire on the South Coast.I was concerned about the logistics, complications and costs relating to my purchase.Ian Marshall advised me what to do and the service was impeccable. I will never be buying from this auction house again I was shocked at the amount of money they charge to send two watches £30 quid. I know this is extortionate prices because I buy from auction houses all the time. The last time I bought 16 items and it cost me £18 to have them sent to me, so 30 quid for two watches is way over the top I understand they’re not a charity and have to make money but they do that from the percentages on the hammer price and the jointing the Auction fees.

Morphets is a Harrogate gem. Buying through an auction can be a stressful experience but the marvellous staff at Morphets make it a pleasure. There's never any pressure to over-spend and the administration on all fronts is exceptional. It's always easy to get advice on provenance, value and anticipated demand for any lot. We have bought about 50 lots from them in the last six months and we look forward to seeing every new catalogue. Heartily recommend you give them a try.

I love this auction house I have had some lovely items all staff are so friendly and helpful nothing is to much customer service superb .They help with packing and really I always leave happy with my purchases and feel to be made very welcome and well just a brilliant team .

Purchased beautiful old rocking horse and collected today. The staff all very friendly, professional and polite. The 2 young gents that carried out and very carefully placed in my van were brilliant and a credit to your company. 5* service

The worst auction what I ever been. I bid for a piano on this auction. Piano description stated that was in ebonised case. Casio doesn't make pianos in ebonised cases, that was mahogany colour. Also as you can see on 2 pictures made by me veneer came off all around a piano, looks like after flood, piano has lots of scratches what was not stated in description, they hide damages on pictures, they just put veneer piece in correct place to cheat customers. Also if you like to collect anything from auction please note that auction has no parking. Please have a look for other reviews of this auctioneer, other people report the same problem. There is so many auctioneers on the market, please think if it is worth to use Morpeths. I say NO for this auction

I have recently purchased a watch from Morphets. The team provided a full condition report for me and their photographs were excellent. They also assisted with very speedy delivery. High quality items every auction. Just love this saleroom and have used them for years, fully appreciate their great service, from the people who take phone bids on the day to those who see you at the desk when you mss asks a payment and the porters too.
