This place is normally really good. I have eaten here alot of times. No problems before. This time though I ordered the mixed grill, gamon steak, 4oz steak and a 1/2 chicken breast. Steak and gammon were very nice, then you see this little tiny peice of chicken the size of a mc Donald's nugget. I spoke the the waitress and was told that that is what they are sent as a half chicken breast. Needless to say I was astonished with their response. Such a shame as they are very good normally. Breakfast here is amazing.

Editing my 4 star review to 1 star.Used to love brewers fayre but it's on a massive downside.- Chip portions are a joke (see pic).- £7.99 for a kids meal (not including a drink).- Removed the all you can drink cokes but charged the same price for a pint of coke.Paid over £10 per head including drinks for 4 adults from the budget menu and 2 kids.Last week for £18 per adult including drinks I ate the best burger off my life from cullins yard. I know where I will be going next time.Sorry brewers fayre you seem to have lost your way. We are dunzo!

This was the second time and we came back because the chicken dish we had the first time was lovely.Sadly this time around was a different story. The food was lukewarm at best the cherry coke didn't taste like cherry and the tables were sticky and felt unclean.Also, as a couple, seated in an area with screaming children which I would advise them not to do.So all in all unsure if I'd come back.

We decided to come to Brewers Fayre on Wednesday evening. On arrival the restaurant was pretty empty. Three staff saw us standing there, and all three staff ignored us. A lady did eventually come over – asked us how many of us there were – Um – 2! She said she would check the table availability – she came back and said I have a table here. Proceeded to go to the table, bearing in mind the restaurant was pretty empty. We sat down, one chair was rickety and wobbly, so had to get a replacement from another empty table. We noticed that the table was also sticky so when ordering at the bar we asked for the table to be cleaned. We ordered our food, which actually was really nice. It didn’t take too long to be prepared. The staff were pleasant too, but in all honesty, this restaurant looks tired, unloved and could do with a complete revamp. Lots of people comment on the décor and standard of the fixtures and fittings and if it were a lot better I think we would visit more as would other people. The gents toilets were nothing short of disgusting. Urinals full of brown water, mess on the floor, and the smell was unbearable.

Friendly staff who were patient in answering our questions. Food was nice although the chicken burger I had didn't quite consist of much and the apple pie dessert seems to have halved in size recently. Pretty gross toilet unfortunately.

Atrocious place. Would not recommend. Waited for our food for over 1.5 hours. When served it was overcooked and served with 0 effort put into the presentation, not to mention we didnt even receive cutlery with out starter. The cutlery was mostly stained, crockery was chipped and the place was simply disgusting. The tables were filthy. Including our own which we had to clear ourselves to be able to use it. The ceiling and walls were covered in food and drink splatters and there were rats running about the outside smoking area. The desert we ordered never came and after we had to ask the staff for it on two separate occasions we eventually gave up, got the desert refunded and left. What a shame! Our family evening was unfortunately ruined.

Nice spot for an early lunch and for groups. Order and pay at the bar then sit and relax. Friendly Staff and the food was hot and fresh.Front end Staff was very helpful.

Straight forward online booking system, table ready when we arrived 10 mins early despite being very busy. Brilliant friendly efficient staff making sure we didn't queue to order our food. Fresh carvery with polite carvers. Restaurant was clean, tables were cleared promptly. Really reasonably priced food and drinks. Happy we chose this Restaurant. Recommend to all

Such a nice ambience and atmosphere when you walk in.The waitress's greetings bring a smile to our faces.The food is right up our street.Full English Breakfast and other breakfast choices.We had a blast.

Always lovely service from the team at Duke of York. Thank you for always making us feel welcome! Wait time is good, you don't get to the stage where you are questioning where it is. Always hot and delicious. The only complaint I would have, is there is always something unavailable on the menu, but good variety of other choices, even on the 2 meals deal.
