Been recently since moved to new location and will not return. The new location is awkward to get too and local parking is not cheap. Arrived and set up is not great - feels very bare and minimal effort. We found a lot of the toys are very worn and lot have broken pieces/missing - which I appreciate obviously toys are there to be played with and enjoyed and will naturally wear especially with wooden/natural toys. I do feel the drinks and food are overpriced (especially kids snacks) for location and area and there is a limited choice. The concept of getting the children to tidy up at the end I strongly disagree with - I feel this is the responsibility of the business/staff and not the children who have come to play and enjoy. Disappointing.

Visited with some friends and my 10 month old, we booked online. We turned up in the afternoon and were greeted by a really friendly lady who made us feel totally welcomed. The pram park made a huge difference as it meant I didn’t have to drag my big pram in!I ordered some food and a coffee, it was a really good price and well made - very enjoyable. Our kids loved the environment. The only suggestion I would have is a bit of a clean up a few times in the day, although with it being school holidays and busy I’m sure this is hard. But it kind of felt like the place had been wrecked by other kids beforehand which made it a bit overwhelming. But having said that, my son didn’t really seem to mind so maybe it’s just something that bothers adults - suppose kids will play wether it’s messy or not.Definitely will return next time I’m in Wakefield, the fact it’s in the city centre is only thing that makes it hard as cost of parking and getting into town can be hard sometimes, would visit this loads more if it was somewhere like Horbury. Can see how it being in city centre may open it up for more people who visit city centre lots though :)

We really enjoyed our visit to the new location. It’s much more open and easy to move around. I like the natural light, no screens and the low volume music (loud music really bothers me).Pram park is downstairs so it’s less cluttered with prams in the actual play area. There’s plenty of different play sections and themes to keep children and babies happy. It was nice to finish the session with singing and a story which added a personal touch.Only constructive feedback is that it was quite cold and I do think it needs to be warmer. Bring a pair of thick socks! Also, just a little thing but a toddler-sized toilet seat added to the normal sized one would be useful.Overall it’s a great place and there isn’t anything else like it in this area.

Unfortunately they do not answer enquiries on any platform and I have now given up trying to visit again. I agree with previous comments of it being wrong to be made to sit at storytime as, yes some may like that but my child would prefer to have the option to play for longer - we can read at home. Pricing on the door is more expensive than booking online, which I do not understand at all. Surely if there’s space to fill, you’d welcome walk ins? Not charge them more. Weird way to price and screams that they care more about money than customers. The tidying up is also something I disagree with, this is taking even more time out of children’s play time, with this as storytime and a drink/food, the session is not long enough to factor all of this in and still get quality play time. I haven’t been to the new location as I have no idea how to get to this and also puts me off walking over the bridge near a busy road. Sometimes I would bring my child and niece but now it would have to be somewhere else as it’s a hassle to get to, parking is expensive close by and the walk is by a busy main road. Sorry but some tweaking needs doing- starting with answering customer’s enquiries and being available.Had previously also enquired about a party then they suddenly stopped responding so I booked somewhere else. Not sure if they don’t need the custom or if they are just rude when it comes to social media and/or texting/emailing, as they seem nice in person but just not the case over the internet. The plus side is the staff are nice enough and do interact well with children. The place is clean and, the old location was roomy (can’t comment on the new one).

My son loves it here, it's a clean and safe environment for him to go and learn and play. Staff are so friendly and helpful and it's a great price the the membership.

Went with a friend, our partners and babies (6 months) to the 10am session. Unfortunately, we won't be returning as the place was FREEZING, DIRTY and LIMITED selection for under 12 months. Our babies had red noses and cold feet even with layers on, likely due to the concrete floor, thin carpet on small sections only and large windows all way around on all external walls.Every toy we picked up was dirty, with food, hairs and general dirt on, as we went to the morning session we can only assume it was not cleaned from the day before. It is a nice idea, just seems to be a bad location and doesn't meet hygiene expectations for children's play areas. If you do go.. allow extra time to find suitable parking and walk to the centre as we drove around for 30 minutes trying to park (all nearby car parks were full, this is of course not Rainbow Playrooms fault, but something to note). Can also agree with another review that mentioned not being greeted upon arrival as we weren't so just had to find out from another customer that we are to go to the 'cafe' to check in.

First time visiting today, travelled over 30 minutes to get there. Unfortunately don’t think I will be returning. When we arrived we were not greeted, had no idea what the concept was whether we checked in etc or what we did. The location is hard to find and not sign posted at all. It was absolutely freezing in the centre, my LG was cold the entire time being there. Concrete floors and ceiling to floor glass windows, if I’d of known how cold it was I’d of wrapped up more. My LG is only 8 months and I was on edge the entire time as older tots were running around within the same area, which I understand but I think baby and tots should be in separated areas. There is minimal toys/sensory bits for a baby, therefor if you do have a baby between 0-12 months I wouldn’t recommend. The toys were worn and had bits missing. We also tried to order a nice coffee from the cafe just to be told the machine isn’t working so I paid £5 for two instant coffees… sadly I won’t be returning and will stay within my local area.

First time visiting today and I always like to leave a thorough review for other Mommas as I know how hard it can be sometimes to find somewhere decent to go with little ones.Firstly I’d like to mention that the place is on floor 2 I haven’t ever been to The Ridings and was honestly about to give up looking for it , it didn’t help that there was no one at the customer service desk…. So , level 2 FYRThe play cafe, was a lovely hour and a half for the kids who were entertained and super happy exploring the different levels. It was nice to see that the place was clean , safe and warm. I’m quite funny about cleanliness when it comes to kids places but no issues here. They have crafty sections where kids can dabble with water, colour, play in the sandpit etc…And they do a lovely story at the end of the session which is a nice cool down before leaving.Food is at a reasonable price although , the sandwich deal for kids isn’t really a sandwich , it’s half a sandwich cut into 2 squares , I have been to other places where you get a full sandwich (4 squares) and then all the extra bits you can have (crisps, fruit etc..) for the same price. It’s a shame that you have to pay for parking , I think if you book online in advance you can get it a little cheaper but still it all adds up.All In all it was a lovely experience in a very welcoming environment and I’m looking forward to visiting again with the kids!
