Great place to stop for a couple of nights whilst cycle touring in the area.Clean toilets and showers although some still shut when all corony restrictions are over....I had ear plugs so didn't hear the trains at night.Lots of picnic tables which is great as we don't have any sort of table usually.Only issue is that if any customers only have 1 arm (as Def Leppard were formed down the road maybe Rick Allen the drummer hadn't paid a visit yet to comment) they would struggle with the push button showers as they only stay on for 3 seconds. Great temperature though. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Myself and my girlfriend hired a VW camper van and that’s here over the august bank holiday weekend. Booked it a little short notice and Pam was really helpful and friendly. The campsite is adjacent to a railway line which I was a little concerned about. When we arrived the place was beautiful. The sound of the trains going by really didn’t bother us in the slightest. The place was really clean. Clean toilets and showers and washing up are. Would 100% recommend and will be returning. Thank you Pam.

Lovely little campsite, great setting. Best thing was the very friendly, welcoming and helpful site owners - for whom nothing was too much trouble. Loved the regular visiting ducks waddling across the site. Great area lots to explore, stunning scenery. The railway line does pass along the edge of the site which may bother some, but trains weren't that frequent and I didn't notice any at night. On the other hand if you like trains and or wanted to catch a train at the station across the road - this could be a plus point. Some might think that the pitches were close to each other but this didn't bother me and the campsite although nearly full had a quiet, intimate feel to it. I'd recommend this campsite to friends and would visit again if in this area.

Great site in a fantastic part of Derbyshire. Site and facilities exceptionally clean and well maintained. Owner and staff very friendly. Will come again but will need to book well in advance to make sure one of the 12 touring slots will be available. Only able to give one days notice this time. Very lucky and our two nights there were fantastic.

Had an amazing weekend stay last weekend, such a peaceful campsite and Pam really helpful. Beautiful surroundings very well kept clean and tidy. There is a train track to back of site which we were aware of but to be honest it didn't bother us in the slightest. The trains are not inter City and there are not so many at night time. I would thoroughly recommend this gem and hoping there will be room for us to come back again.

Re the residential lodges now being sold. We asked if we could have a Omar Colorado on a pitch and was told yes, we paid a deposit and travelled to the Omar factory in Suffolk to pick the interior colours and units. We were at this point informed that the only lodges allowed on the this site were going to be the Omar image so that all the lodges look the same. What an absolute waste on time and money as we would never have been interested in a site that demands what model of lodge you have to live in. In reply, you can have what lodge you like as long as they are modified to look the same, so no you are not having a Colorado delivered.

We stayed here for 2 nights during our stay in the Peak District. At first sight the site looks like it has everything you could wish for, it is well kept and the facilities are decent. However I would think twice about booking this site when you look closer into it. After being issued with a comprehensive rule booklet on arrival it soon became apparent that fellow campers with children were not allowed to do anything even remotely fun or active anywhere on site including riding bikes, or playing ball games. The makes the site certainly not suitable for families or active couples. At first glimpse the site looks to be well located for local amenities but its location has huge drawbacks especially when it comes to sleeping on a night! The nearby main road emits lots of traffic noise and worst of all the site has a train line running basically though the site via an overhead bridge. Other reviews state the train line as not been a detraction from the quality of the site but personally I have to disagree. The trains run regularly all day and there were several that ran through the night during our stay and as you can imagine at 3am a train running through the site sounds like thunder during the quiet of the night!I would not recommend this site. Lots of others are available in the locality with better facilities, away from busy roads and train line and more room to set up on and with a friendlier atmosphere! It did the job for our 2 night stay but we will not be returning.
