The first person I spoke to who had taken all my details was extremely friendly and helpful and organised for a solicitor to call me when it was most convenient for me. Today I had my telephone consultation with Alexandra Kelly who was absolutely amazing. Alex listened to all of my concerns and thoughts and was extremely understanding of my situation. Really poor experience - unclear billing practises (the arithmetic didn't add up) - repeatedly deducted/took money without proper instructions to do so. Refused to provide breakdowns of bills and very aggressive on billing. Also, didn't know many elementary principles relating to service of proceedings and basic principles of disclosure. Claire Holland is not a qualified solicitor, so pls be aware that as a client you do not benefit from the SRA regulatory scheme that protects the clients of all qualified solicitors. Jennifer McNeil is fine, but give this firm a miss or proceed with caution - only if you really must.
