Extremely disappointed with the cake. It was my baby’s second birthday and we were looking for a customised gluten free cake. Though the cake looked perfect from outside it tasted pathetic. I was very specific while placing the order. I told Sach the person who I was talking to that we don’t want over sweet cake and told them to make sure its moist from inside because it’s gluten free and mostly gluten free flours are dry. The cake was very dry and crumbly. It was undercooked. It was over sweet. It was chocolate cake with luxury chocolate buttercream however we could taste only sugar and dry flour. There was no taste of any chocolate and guess what the cake costed a bomb. I specifically told them that we want the cake for only 10 to 12 people and a day before my daughter’s birthday they told me because of the design we finalized the cake will be for atleast 20 people. This means they even charged me for that big a cake without informing me initially. I can go on and on however to cut it short it was the worst gf cake we have ever had. I wish I had read the reviews on google before ordering. I really regret it. Thankfully my daughter is too young however all of us were very disappointed.

Really good quality cakes. We had the gluten/dairy free chocolate sponge. The flavour was lovely and rich and the texture/consistency is excellent. The icing was immaculately applied with nice details such as small gold flecks. Delivery was next day via DPD and the cake came safely packaged in a strong outer box with cooling gel packs and an inner box with air pocket packaging. Defrosting overnight left the cake in perfect condition next day for consumption.

Couture cakes is one of the best in my view for birthdays and weddings - their wide range of cakes definitely inspired me to use them on my birthday and maybe one day for my wedding. They were indeed very reliable and delivered all of my needs on time. The cake was absolutely stunning and delicious too.

What a disappointing experience. First and last experience with this company. The company place themselves as provider of high quality product. In fact, the costumer service is poor with unpleasant and dismissive members of staff. Communication was poor and uninformative. The company decided to change the delivery to a different date without asking me. But after numerous discussions and literally begging them to help as the child’s birthday was the following date, they delivered the same date but late I had to make alternative arrangements for someone to receive them. The cake pops I ordered were delivered with broken and wet inside items. See photos attached. As the order was for a school birthday celebration it had to have no nuts as ingredients and although the company claimed this will be the case over the phone, on the order itself the note was provided to say that cannot guarantee no nuts in the ingredients. I attach the note they included. When approached for the refund for the items that were broken , or wet, the company did not provide the full amount per cake but still retained the money for the packaging and delivery of the faulty items. Overall very unpleasant experience, low quality product, nothing to pride about. Most unhelpful and rude customer service at every point. Should have realised at the beginning from the second phone call when I had a particular person dealing with my order that it is not worth relying on this company to supply a high quality and upmarket product. Low quality. I don’t think anyone would be happy to allow their child to eat this. Do not recommend them to any of my friends.

Ordered the standard Madeira cake with jam and buttercream for my husband as an anniversary present. Although it’s a little expensive, it’s by far the most exquisite and delicious cake we’ve ever eaten. Would definitely purchase again for special occasions.

GC Couture created a fabulous cake for our wedding - neutral tones with the sugar flowers matching the foliage in our bouquets, with nods of gold Harry Potter elements. Just perfect. Thank you!Rebecca & Stefan x

Buttercream was grainy (probably not mixed the Icing sugar properly) and decoration swirls were all over the place rather than around the edges of the cake as advertised. No response to my email either.Not impressed, should have gone to a local independent as would have been cheaper too!

The ONLY regret I have about my wedding is booking my cake with GC Couture.They failed to deliver anything as promised, and have since done nothing to rectify the issue. I’ve reached out to them repeatedly, only to be dismissed and IGNORED. Once they take your money, they really don’t care. Disgusting considering I paid over £1000 for our ‘dream’ wedding cake that massively missed the brief.Apart from feeling totally scammed, I feel neglected and heartbroken that this company could be so ruthless with something so personal. I trusted them over other (honest) suppliers to make my cake, assuring me it was ‘easy’.I didn’t expect a carbon copy, but it looked nothing like the intricate cascading design I asked for, instead we had a very empty white cake with random splodges of paint, a lot of detail missing, and the supposedly HANDMADE sugar and wafer flowers I paid the premium price tag for, looked extremely basic & suspiciously shop-bought (I found the same ones on Amazon/Hobbycraft).Despite clear instructions, they took it upon themselves to choose tones/colours which looked infuriatingly more suited to a child’s birthday party or gender reveal party than a luxury wedding.Delivery was a shambles and the driver didn’t set up the cake as promised.Cake tasting was an absolute joke, they have over 40 flavours but unless you have £100s to spend on unnecessary volumes of cupcakes, you can’t taste any of the flavours you might be interested in ordering.During the opportunity for an upsell, we were over-promised a sample by the very good salesman Sach, but once he closed the sale he didn’t follow through on his promise and insultingly offered nothing but an apology for his negligence.For a company that keep saying they ‘pride themselves on exceptional customer service’, they take zero accountability for their actions and fail to actually address or offer to resolve any customer complaints.Absolutely ridiculous and not the treatment you’d expect from a ’luxury’ brand.Picture on the left is what I asked for. Pictures to the right are what I got. Would you be happy paying £1K for this?!

Paid for a gluten-free cake on Thursday, requested next day delivery for Saturday, as it was my sister’s 40th birthday party, but it didn’t arrive.Caused huge problems getting a GF replacement in time, and unnecessary stress.Apparently, on Friday they realised they hadn’t added on the next day delivery charge and had only charged my card for the £59.99 for the cake. As they were unable to get a response to the one email they sent (I don’t have access to personal emails at work during the day) they decided, rather than sending the cake and getting the delivery charge from me when I did pick up my email, that they would cancel the whole order. Without telling me. Extremely poor customer service throughout. Given that the error was theirs, they should have taken steps to remedy it. A voicemail may have been helpful, either at the point of realising the mistake, or when the order was cancelled, but that seems to have been too much trouble.As a final further bad effort at customer relations, they’re not responding to my requests for a refund of the £59.99 so I have the extra hassle of claiming through my credit card company.Had I found their reviews, in relation to both quality/size of cakes and customer service, I wouldn’t have ordered in the first place, hence leaving this review to give fair warning to others.

I ordered a vegan cake to be delivered today for a birthday event this evening. They failed to deliver the cake blaming it on DPD. Even if it was DPD an alternative delivery should have been offered! The birthday was ruined as it is not easy to just pick up a fancy vegan cake that easily! Really disappointed with this place and I would not recommend them going forward for anyone especially if you have a big event.
