To be honest, I had my son's birthday here. The service was really slow, and I had to clear my own table and even had to find someone to ask where our next course was!Would I recommend this place not really. It's OK if you expect semi OK food and poor service.

Absolutely awful experience. Booked breakfast with Santa on a Sunday morning for 10.45am. Was told there was no Santa via a call on Saturday evening. Found out after getting food from breakfast buffet that the food was being taken away in a minute to prep for lunch. Only found this out because of a member of staff discussing/arguing with another customer. Spoke to the same member of staff to clarify the situation, and to ask why we hadn't been told and why they take a booking for 10.45am? Was basically told that she wouldn't have taken the booking and that chef needed to get ready for carvery at lunch. Tge member of staff was rude and didn't apologise or take any accountability. I was basically told to 'get in there quick'. Breakfast was duly taken away at 11.05, even as my sister in law was there looking to get some seconds. I find this whole experience unacceptable. We did not have the same breakfast experience (20 mins) as anyone who booked earlier in the morning. All that needs to happen is, don't take bookings so late, or don't take the food away so early or at the very least make sure the customer is aware when they book...or when they arrive or something. Oh, and don't argue with a customer when they are seeking an apology or explanation. Terrible experience and service, will never be returning.

Really pleased with our meal.Reasonable prices and very tasty. I had the mixed grill and the meats were cooked to perfection.Children's meal was quite small. The spaghetti was over cooked in the microwave and the potion of garlic bread very small.Staff very friendly.

Went for a meal on sunday the service was ok it was busy but the food was really bad had to send a kids burger back because it was burnt also had to send the haddock and chips back as it was so over cooked the fish had curled up and shrunk to nothing. I told the manager she blamed it on the size of the fish lol. Not the fact her cooks cant cook its unacceptable when you go for a meal and the staff dont seem to care.

It's okay, is what you expect from a brewers fayre, affordable food and drinks, it's got a big soft play that your kids can go in for 90 minutes for £3 per child to keep them occupied before your meal comes and it's surrounded by windows so you don't have to sit in there with them!

I visited with my family yesterday (6th Oct) and we had a great time. We were welcomed straight away and managed to get a seat in the popular play area. Our food was lovely and arrived very quickly, thank you. The man at the bar taking orders seemed to be on his own but managed to acknowledge everyone waiting well, something you don't see much anymore! The girl working in the play area was very friendly and really did a good job of trying to make sure all children were being safe when in my opinion it should have been the parents responsibility. Give her a pay rise! My only note would be there did seem to be a lot of children playing in the space? Seemed like too many to be safe to me but I am sure these things are tracked. Thank you for a nice visit. We will return soon.

The food has got more expensive but smaller portions and is no where near as filling. I used to feel it was value for money but not so much anymore. The food was nice but very small portions. The soft play is always a bonus for those with young kids but it does shut at 7pm and there was no colouring or anything else to occupy them when closed so bring a back up option with u.

Absolutely awful. We’ve been coming here for a while and service has been a bit hit and miss but staff always friendly and food good but recently it’s been even worse. Service absolutely shocking, starters coming out once we’d finished the mains, massive queues, cold food and just generally awful! Lots of food missing from the menu and no festive menu past 6PM apparently either. Had to sit in the bar because there was no tables even though we booked too. Never again

A few notes. The play area is not free like in some places like that. £4.50 for 90min. But ours couldn't get in as lady said no space. Wonder if we could book individual space.I would only come here with kids wanting the softplay and parents want a moment of peace

My wife and I had a fantastic dining experience at Brewers Fayre at Castle Lake. Kerry, our server, was incredibly attentive and polite, which set the tone for the evening. We weren't expecting much, given our previous experiences at other Brewers Fayres, but this time, the meal exceeded our expectations. My steak was cooked to perfection and easily the best we'd had at a Brewers Fayre. We were so impressed that we had to share our positive feedback with the manager, Nicola, who was equally amazing and engaged in a delightful 15-minute conversation with us. Kerry and Nicola truly exemplify outstanding service and are a credit to their company. We can't wait to return!
