Honestly aren’t too bad but renting as a student (postgrad) you are made to feel like an 18 year old some of the time with rather condescending emails (I’m 25). Also, it is noticeable that proactively is minimal. If there is a deadline, they will wait until that deadline before getting on with things. Again, fine for it’s purpose but don’t expect more than that.

poor service I have received from your company.Last week I arranged a viewing with a colleague of yours to view a Property on Woodward road, Mountsorrell today 22/08/22 at 3.30pm. The lady on the phone told me she would call me on the morning to confirm the viewing which I never received I tried to call your agency however no one answered. I left work at 2:50pm to arrive at the property for 3:30pm for the viewing, on my and my partners arrival there was no one at the property from your agency so we waited 20 minutes still no one arrived. I called your agency to confirm my viewing today which I received the news that the viewings for this property had been “cancelled and someone should have called you this morning or emailed or text” I received none of these so I had travelled 40 minutes from work to view this property as did my partner and take 2 hours unpaid from work! And all the woman on the phone said was “I am sorry about this” I think it’s poor management and poor service as I have now wasted fuel and unpaid time from work, I would hate to think of someone was still living there and had me turning up at the door knocking for a viewing.Time wasters

Communication throughout tenancy was decent and friendly, however when it came to being proactive in repairing issues that wasn’t great. We reported rising damp within the first couple months of tenancy and it wasn’t sorted to fruition by the end of the 12 months, we had to move on. Contractors were nice and friendly but the comms between them and Barkers mustn’t have been good as on more than one occasion contractors came to look at the same issue with no knowledge of previous visits.

Absolutely atrocious. I wouldn't have even given these clowns one star, but you have to include a star in the reviews.We have had about five experiences with Barkers Estate Agents over the last few years. Each time they have let us down. They fail to respond to requests to view properties. They frequently fail to turn up at viewings when they actually do respond. (edited - just to respond to the feedback from Barkers below back around 2017/18 we used Barkers to look for properties in the Knighton area of Leicester, and frequently the agent never turned up and when we called there was no-one in the office! More recently we tried to view a property on Knighton Lane East through Rightmove, but again the office never rang back to book). Their social media has not been updated for several years (at this date of October 2023), and not promoted any of their properties. Their customer service is beyond the pale. How ANYBODY would allow this useless and incompetent estate agent to sell or manage their property is beyond me.There are good estates agents. There are bad estate agents And there are Barkers.

Initially we had a disappointing experience with accounts department, where they were calling us every month even after paying the rent without missing a due date, even after that we got mails asking us to pay the rent unnecessarily.An agent from Barker's visited us one week prior to the end of our tenecy and promised us to return our deposits if we clean the entire property and arrange for gardening, we cleaned the property and did the gardening part, now they're coming up with points like the door was not closed, windows were open, mattress is soiled, kitchen is dirty with items, while we didn't even leave single item in kitchen.There is only one broken drawer in 1st bedroom for which they're claiming the entire deposit.

I recently sold a property following a bereavement and used Barkers as they were recommended to me. They arranged the Energy Performance Certificate, arranged and attended all the viewings with prospective buyers, chased a buyer who let me down badly, recommended and liaised with the solicitor I used and handled everything very swiftly and efficiently. I was stressed and anxious about the sale but Victoria was very understanding and empathetic and kept me informed of developments via email and phone calls. Bankers supported me very well and I would recommend them.

Horrendous. Avoid at all costs. Not just incompetent but they are happy to let you live in below standard living conditions. Our bathroom has been covered in mould for the past 4 months due to the fact that the bathroom lacks a proper extractor. The house is cold and covered in damp and the estate agents continue to not do anything about it. Avoid at all costs.

I highly recommend avoiding Barkers Estate Agent. The overall customer experience is subpar, characterized by a lack of attention to detail and a lack of consideration for your emotions.

First time ever I booked to view a property with Barkers some years ago and they simply didn't turn up. Saturday morning, answerphone on in the office. Asked what happened when passing the Clarendon Park office a couple of days later and they said that the appointment hadn't been put in the book, even though it had been booked IN the office! They didn't seem to care.Second terrible experience was when we had a viewing to see if it was worth selling our house. The woman who came was so unprofessional, she was telling us private info about our neighbours which we felt was very unprofessional.Fast forward to this past week. Third time lucky? No! Tried to book to see a property they've had on the market for some time on Knighton Lane East. Asked via RightMove if we could book to see on Saturday morning. It's now Friday evening, and we've heard nothing.
