Glendrick Roost Animal Welfare Centre

You have to visit this place. Listening to the story of each of the 22 rescue dogs whilst having dog cuddles. Dogs are really loved here and it is a wonderful experience.

A wonderful visit, 90 minutes spent with 22 adorable rescue dogs with special needs (heart problems, epilepsy, cancer etc) to pet & cuddle. Hearing their individual stories was interesting & often sad but great to see how happy & well looked after the dogs are now. And Squirtles the tiny chihuahua was hilarious. Such a tiny dog with a huge personality who seems to rule the roost! A huge thank you to Mione & her volunteers for your relentless hard work in looking after these lovely dogs. Whilst it was a couple of hours out of our day, I felt so humbled that they are working tirelessly 365 days a year to give the animals here their deserved second chance homes.Even if you can’t visit, it’s a wonderful charitable cause so please consider a donation if you don’t have time to get there in person!

I really enjoyed my visit. Lots of animals to see and all well looked after and happy. The volunteers who help look after the animals are all great, but they need more volunteers to spread the load so I'll be back to help as much as I can. My family and I visited Glendrick Roost yesterday and had the most wonderful time interacting with these well-loved, happy rescue dogs. Nione gave us in-depth information about each one, and their care plans/health history. They all clearly adore her, and are thriving in the sanctuary after being so cruelly treated by previous owners/veterinary practices prior. They are in need of donations and I urge anyone who is able to give generously to this fantastic cause.(I’d also like to comment on the negative remarks made by the gentleman with the injured deer. From what I saw his statement could not be more false - and to write something so defamatory about a charity working so hard to help unwell animals is extremely saddening. If you’re reading this, please consider removing your comment as honest reviews are incredibly important in this day-and-age, and what you wrote could potentially impact funding for Glendrick Roost, and therefore the amount of care accessible to the animals).

Amazing wee place, had a fantastic experience here with all the gorgeous dogs! We booked the experience via airbnb and would love to do it all over again. The dogs all have additional needs but it definitely doesn’t stop them and their stories are all both heartbreaking but heartwarming too! An amazing afternoon with loads of cuddles and stories, would highly recommend booking in and visiting, absolutely worth every penny!

Been there twice now and the owner (Miony) has rescued quite a number of animals from cattle to a Mini Pomeranian. She puts her heart and soul into the sanctuary and always puts her rescues wellbeing above all else. As Glendrick Roost is a registered charity I'm sure Miony would welcome any help, donations or simply food for the dogs, ponies, pig, cattle, chickens, goats, as well as teeny furries such as Guinea pigs and rabbits.

Visited on the 20th of May around 730 pm as a deer had been hit on the road next to the sanctuary, staff could not have cared less for the Injured deer, I asked if it was OK to store the deer or keep it comfortable until the rspca arrived or for help with the deer and was told no, zero compassion shown for a sick animal.AVOID!!!!!

One of the most fantastic days I've had in a long time, getting to pet the donkeys, sit next to a highland cow!!! Pet the wee coo, sheep and goats, the highlight was getting cuddles from all the really affectionate disabled doggies, these guys really need more financial help and volunteers though

Glendrick roost is an animal sanctuary run by a wonderful lady and all the volunteers. The animals of all descriptions are so well looked after. Life is natural and easy going for them and they love having visitors on the days when people come. A lot of the dogs are blind and all have problems of a sort but they are so friendly and love nothing better than cuddles.I love going to see them all at the sanctuary
