I've already done a bit of feedback. but I'm doing a little bit more . The employees are lovely and kind, and we are so happy we got Missy (Beagle+Staffie)back on May 16th, 2022. She's playful, energetic, and funny. She has such a personality, and unlike normal dogs, she acts like a human. She has changed our lives, and I love her so much. But here are the bad parts, when u get see your dog, they put him, her in this big cage thing for you to see what he, she is like, but, it looks so wrecked in there, it makes people not wanna buy the dog because of the reckless atmosphere surrounding the dog you want. It makes the dog look visious with the Teard sofa, fluff everywhere, and dirty Ness. Also, they took way too long to accept your request when you asked for a dog. We had to beg and beg until we managed to convince them to make an appointment. But overall, the whole process from booking appointments to buying the fur baby, I'd give this whole thing a 9/10

Great place, but the kennels are too close which makes it scary experience would work better if laid out in a square

We have visited here a lot lately and been helped by Becky to get to know a collie Pippa who needs a new forever home. Today we collected her for a foster period.Absolutely thrilled with the knowledge and support through this introduction and fostering period, and seeing the dedication of the staff and the dog walkers.

Absolutely amazing staff - they really care and love the dogs so much. I wouldn't go anywhere else for a rescue dog. Keep up the good work. We are about to foster, with the hope of rehoming a dog from here, and it's been a fabulous experience attending regular 'meets' with our hopeful new companion for our puppy. Luci is a beautiful dog, she has had a sad start in life like all the rescues needing a loving home and we can't wait to have her as part of our family.

Took our dogs here to be spayed. Excellent prices vs high street vet chains and efficient service and communication. Worth supporting these instead of profit-driven vets. They are busy and under staffed and but we expected as much. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend for efficiency!

Ok so, just thought I needed to change my review as I see a lot of bad ones and need to share my experience. We put an appplication in for a husky and all went well including the cat test, however they then said we could only have ehr if we were willing to get a dog walker on my days in work. In hindsight should probably have said that before we took the cat down etc. However we weren't put off and a couple weeks later we took little Harv (Mr Bale) out for a walk and put an application in. Her had been in the home for a couple of months and mostly overlooked as he was (and still sort of is) reactive with traffic. We were made aware of this and the home put him through a training programme before we could take him home which we were invited along to and are carrying on now. He is a right little character and sometimes an absolute git we love him anyway and the home were nothing but helpful. Respect to everyone who works there and volunteers out of the goodness of their heart.

This review is not to be regarded as a negative against the staff or the hard work they do looking after many dogs. But, if you find a missing dog and are attempting to find their owner AND WANT TO SEE THAT PROCESS THROUGH PERSONALLY, DO NOT take them to Cardiff Dogs Home (or any dogs home) for microchip scanning as they will take them and refuse to release them back to you.If, like me, you feel responsible for the dog for the, hopefully, short time they are with you. Then having it effectively forceably taken from you to be kept in kennels rather than a home is the worst feeling in the world.I fully expect a reply from the dogs home explaining the legal side, which of course, they have the high ground on. But this to help others who share my outlook to avoid the same situation. If you're unable/unwilling to look after the dog yourself, then I'm sure the Dogs Home will be the right choice but I will never take another missing dog there again until I can't look after it any longer myself. I will try the vet first.
