Saltford Brass Mill
Historic Monument status and well worth a visit! Limited opening times, so check the website for details. Situated in a delightful setting on the banks of the river Avon just outside Salford, and in a prime location between two pubs - Bird in Hand, and the Riverside Inn

A really nice surprise a working watermill providing electricity for different processes many years old. Great place to take the children to see working interactive models. The volunteers were very knowledgeable and keen.

Fantastic historic place, adult and children's interest and imagination captured by the old working mill and machinery and the welcoming, enthusiastic and knowledgeable volunteers.

Saltford Brass Mill
Fascinating glimpse into a forgotten history. Well worth visiting, but check website for opening times. When you go make sure you get a guided tour if possible as it brings the place alive. One of the few places in that doesn't hide Bristols role in the Slave Trade. Free, but do make a donation if you can.

Saltford Brass Mill
Wonderful old Brass Mill on the banks of the River Avon at Saltford half way between Bristol and Bath. This is one of the few remaining Mills that still has working machinery and that gives a good sense of what it might have been like when at it's active height of use in 17th and 18th centuries. Run by knowledgeable, passionate and friendly volunteers. Featured in Miles Chambers Civilisations programme in 2018 which explored links between the brass industry and the transatlantic slave trade.
