We had a lovely stay here. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming from our original booking through to saying goodbye. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Fantastic position on the lake. The only reason I have given 4 stars is that there was not enough storage in the room. Not a bedside cabinet, nice but too contemporary from that point. They are doing renovations which is great to bring the decor back to how it was so some of the images are of the previous years, the breakfast room was very dark but we were lucky to have brekfast out by the lake. Also no outside lights when coming back in the evening. We will definitely return. Special mention to Bev and Hazel, thank you!

I had a few reservations about the hotel after reading some of the reviews, but they were not actually correct the hotel and staff are very welcomeing special thanks to bev nothing was too much trouble even printing off directions to places we wanted to go, lovely, quiet, peaceful, lovely views, breakfast was more than enough as much as you wanted not a full English but more than adequate to start the day off with and for those that think there's a pool they should probably read the information properly there is a pool but it's not in use at the moment but if in doubt ring first like we did, also the restaurant is not available at the moment but once again ring first as it might be operating by the time you go.We went as two couples in May 2023, the hotel is under refurbishment and because of this, work is going on and improvements are being made. We will definitely be going back next year to see the changes. If you are looking for somewhere that is peaceful and relaxing this is definitely the place for you.

The location is lovely and it was nice to be able to walk around the extensive grounds . Our room was very cold and did tAke a while to get it warm. The shower wasn’t hot enough either which made me colder.There was no choice for dinner, which was disappointing and no dessert .The staff were all very lovely and friendly .We sadly won’t be returning. The room was not up the to standard we would expect for the price. Notable it certainly did not have sound proof walls ( as stated in the info we were sent ) In fact we could hear everything in the room next to us- which was unpleasant.

I stayed two nights for a work related trip. The hotel was quiet with it being midweek, but personally I prefer that. The staff were fantastic and went out of their way to make me feel welcome, particularly Julie, and I felt like nothing was too much trouble.Unfortunately the weather was awful, and being November, the nights dark, so I didn't get to explore the grounds but what I did see looked beautiful. I think it would be a fantastic venue for a wedding, other event or romantic getaway.

What a gem of a location.All the team are exceptional. Nothing is too much trouble. Friendly and able to offer guidance on the area. They made us and our visiting family welcome. Tranquil and relaxing, beautiful surroundings. Would recommend and visit again.

Remote location but nice rooms for the price with quiet & quaint atmosphere.Excellent service with personal attention, accommodating many requests. Really impressed with the personal touches and willingness to help, will recommend.

My friend and I stayed Friday night for the food festival.Beverley gave us the warmest of welcoms it was like walking into an old friends home.Nothing was to much trouble for the lovely staff.We had room 24 and it was roomy with a lovely bathroom with bath and over head shower .Breakfast was continental with a good selection of fresh rolls pastries cold meats cheese cereal fresh juice and tea and coffee.There was a wedding later on in the afternoon and the table settings were absolutely beautiful set upon the backdrop of the lake.All the staff we met were friendly and very helpfulWe wouldn't hesitate to return to this super little location.We had a lovely stay .Beverly goes above and beyond to make your visit unforgettable

The estate is stunning, with lots of wildlife, walking trails around the water. We stayed one night and got upgraded to a room with a lake view. I didn't want to leave! Lovely people, especially Nick the owner who makes sure everyone feels welcome. Good breakfast. Hopefully, we will be back soon
