Pie and mash, peas and gravy, it must be the weekend! As good a place as any to watch Charlie boy try on his new hat. Marvellous grub too. A lunch fit for a King.

It says what it does on the label. Pie and mash with liquor (a sauce with parsley) with some vinegar on the table in a wine bottle, which is a nice touch. All for £5. Can't go wrong. Nice!

I had been craving Pie & Mash for days. Finally got it today. Went in and ordered for takeaway ,double pie & double mash with gravy and liquor, and single pie & double mash and gravy. Not all for me, honest.The pies were crispy on top and the mash was creamy . The gravy and liquor added to the full effect. Absolutely beautiful. I would highly recommend this place for your traditional cockney pie & mash.If you are ever visiting Portobello Rd make sure you stop here for some fantastic food and the staff are so polite.

1 mash 1 pie at 4.5pounds, so very reasonably priced. Tasted great with vinegar and pepper. Told the lady whom I assume is the owner that it was my 1st time eating mash & pie as it was my first time in London. She said the shop is around for 38 years. The place is a simple looking shop which you probably eat and go and around 9mins walk from Portobello Market. Only cash accepted.

Soft and fluffy mashed potatoes, realy complimented the pie which was salted at just the right amount and seemed to have a hint of spice, although barely noticeable so not overwhelming. The sauce tasted leafy which I liked. Very filling and quite cheap for what you get. Travelled far to try it, but hopefully I get another chance to go.

Warming pies, only one type of pie. Have to try the gravey next time. One of the pies was just right, unfortunately the second one was too hard on the edges. But if you want the simple hit of pie, def come here for one

I haven’t tried, as I am not a pie fan, and also I thought they put too much gravy. I took my cousin as she wanted to try the tradicional pie. I am impressive with the price £4.50. I believe it is one of the cheapest places I ever seen on these days. The pie looks good but too much gravy even for her taste. Maybe I would suggest the gravy to be on the side. They just have one pie flavour, it was beef. It is a very simples place. Not sure if I would try, but the reviews were good and that’s why we went there. Located at the end of the Portobello market, just keep going and you will find this place

Went down to Portobello Road yesterday with Mum for a traditional Pie & Mash, Ruth pies are 10/10 & i made sure I made her know this before leaving. And trust me I'm very critical about my food!. Apon entering the shop and ordering there was seating inside but we prefer a bit of alfresco, yes it was a very chilly day, but the mix of piping hot pies that stays hot and crispy until the last bit is just perfect on a winters day

The only pie shop to match the beloved F Cookes in Shepherd's Bush of my childhood. Everything top notch. I've tried others but it's my regular in London now.
