The Half Moon Cafe
Nice cafe in historic Robert's park. Excellent paninis. nice coffee. Quite pricey for what you get though. Lovely place to sit outside in the summer and relax.

Poor selection of cakes etc and a bit pricey. Nice place to sit outside: inside is worn and dowdy.

Really want to like this place as it's local, in a great location and has struggled to get back on its feet after the floods a couple of years ago. Unfortunately when we visited at the weekend, the food range was limited (sandwiches and panini), there was no card machine, we were only 4th in the queue but it took ages to get served and the food took even longer to arrive. This was early November so not nearly as busy as the height of summer. We waited so long that we had to enquire what had happened to our food, and then had to chase again for our drinks. When they finally arrived. we were underwhelmed. £5 for a basic panini. Some of this may have been due to staff shortages, but the poor menu, overpriced food and lack of card machine are regular fixtures. Unfortunately I don't think we'll be returning for a while.

The Half Moon Cafe
Great place to sit and watch the world go by. At least 2 or 3 times a week, after a leisurely walk round the park and along the canal, riverbanks, I and my brothers sit and have a coffee and a chat. Very busy every Saturday morning with the park run participants and volunteers. Only downside are the prices which are not realistic and on the high side for what you get.

Even apart from the fact that the cafe is part of the history of the village; they have excellent coffee and fresh cakes and biscuits plus savouries.A bonus in summer is watching cricket on a traditional pitch from the cafés tables.

The Half Moon Cafe
Great setting overlooking Roberts Park. Good menu with plenty of choice, tasty food and good coffee, also a nice selection of ice cream flavours.

First time customers. Nice setup but they wanted me to serve a latte that was already sitting by the side. When I politely questioned that, they became agitated and made me a fresh latte, pulling a face like they did me a favour: small ice cream and a latte for £6.No apology. Pretty disappointed.
