All Saints' Church : Marple

Very interesting part of marple.easy parking...nearby old well with steps...hirse house with carved skull and cross bones.next to listed barn and horse mounting steps...old alms houses...vicarage with knot /topiary rear gdn.take Ur camera....it's all free...roam the old church yard with nice views...reccomended...I only came to this area by chance..glad I did...so if u can....go!

The detached tower at All Saints Church, Marple, is home to a fine ring of 8 bells. The original six bells, cast in 1731 by Abraham II Rudhall, were from Stockport Parish Church. They were installed here in 1816. Two trebles were added in 1963 cast by John Taylor and Co. of Loughborough when the existing Rudhall bells were rehung and the tower strengthened following demolition of the church.The tower was part of a church built in 1811. However, during the 1870s it was found that the church was too small and the building was not suitable for extension. A new church was built 30 metres to the south of the existing building. Used for occasional services up to 1964, the original church was demolished as the building was unsafe.

A lovely and welcoming church that preaches the Bible faithfully.

An imposing building, benefiting from a very friendly team of clergy and a welcoming congregation.

Visited my family grave. The area has been tidied. Seems more respectable. I hope the little animals don't eat the flowers

This is a great Church for everyone whether you go alone or with the family.They have groups for all ages, sunday school, excellent facilities and it has a friendly atmosphere.It is an upbeat place, good parking, good disabled access, clean and has services at different times of day to accommodate all

Lovely play group on a Friday morning, tea/coffee and a variety of cakes (often gluten free) available. Fantastic selection of toys and a song and dance session at the end. Toilets are small but kept clean and nice to use and baby changing facilities are provided. Free parking on site including disabled spaces and disabled access to the church is available upon request.

Funeral.It is what it is but despite outside freezing conditions and fuel charges this Church was WARM and welcoming..thank you

The bells tolled and I met God.It's a shame the original church was demolished, the bell tower remains.The builders of old have come and gone.

Playgroup for preschool children. Good selection of toys for the children to use. Snack and drinks available for all. Well organised .
