Went here for the first time, got a sausage roll and it was like a brick! The meat was thick, dry and chewy! Had to give it to the dog. Woman behind the counter not very friendly either!

Incorrectly named pie. The steak and kidney should be called steak gristle and kidney, as the lump of gristle was bigger than the kidney.

Would love to shop here. But the first prerequisite would be that the shop might be open!!On the web it says they close at 5pm Tuesday to Saturday. As I am only able to call on my way home from work on weekdays, I arrived every day last week at; between 4:45 and 4:50. All locked and barred, blinds down each day.No sign on the door to say closed today - but not even a sign to indicate any opening times whatsoever! Must be a very wealthy butcher who can afford to treat customers with such arrogant distain...

Normally use Hazeldines for special occasions. I went in and bought two large pork pies the day before Xmas eve. They were the worst pork pies ever, dry no gelatine and the pastry just fell off the pie as soon as I cut them. I also asked the female butcher if I could have some lamb mince and she said they didn’t have any, I asked her if she could make me some and she abruptly said “No sorry” strange am I in a butcher’s shop?? I rang Cauldwells on Davenport who were more than happy to make me some. I know where I’ll be going in the future.

Visited here on strength of previous recommendation for pork pies. Dead at 10.30 on a Saturday morning. Unfriendly female butcher. No fresh pork pies out... on a Saturday! Still bought 1 small and 1 medium pork pie. £8..! Think I was ripped off. Pork pies awful, pastry like cardboard. Fortunately there was no ribs of beef, or i may have bought some. A business on it's uppers.

Absolutely incredible butchers the sausage rolls are spot on I also bought a turkey when I ate it. It was perfect!! Amazing staff all lovely. Correctly priced I would 100% recommend best butchers !!
