Went for their Xmas menu, good value 2 courses for £28.95 or 3 for £31.95. The menu has a good variety with non Xmas meals too.We had the turkey...it was a good portion of meat and lots of thick gravy...the downside was the carrots and parsnips were massive...obviously the chef is too lazy to cut them smaller so they were rock hard !You have to order sides of pigs in blankets which is a little stingy, would normally get one on your plate.Cauliflower cheese was very cheesy but the Cauliflower was raw and the cheese although melted was probably done under the hot lamp and not a grill...wanted it nice and golden brown.Overall it could be amazing if they cut the veg up and cooked it better.

Food was lovely. Had sea bass. Nice to have a slightly healthier option available and still so tasty. Creme brûlée for desert - very nice.Chairs were comfy (so rare these days) and service was prompt and friendly. Even had a guy welcome me before I’d made it in from the car park!Other than the new potatoes being a bit firm I’d say it was the perfect lunch. Nice decor too.

We are no stranger to this delightful venue but have not so far written a review. Easy to book a table on line. It's got a good size car park. Has the feeling of an old village pub with 2 open fires for the winter blasts and garden seating those sunny summer days. It's not too big a menu and all items quite reasonably priced. My pal ordered Haddock, chunky chips and mushy peas. I had the Hunters Chicken Escallope, chunky chips, green leaf decoration and a brown sauce. A good plate full of well cooked food and good service. What more can you ask for?

Stopped off on the way home for lunch. Sat outside with 2 pups.Order at table. Food came quickly.Staff polite and helpful.Food was mediocre. The burger was tasty and arrived hot.The pie was underfilled, the carrots and broccoli very hard (carrots were cold) and the mash was dense. I asked for gravy as there wasn't any but this was provided quickly and piping hot. There is a a significant traffic noise as it's close to an A road. The whole place was a bit shabby tbh.In short, nice staff but let down by the rest.

We arrived as a family of 4 to have dinner and give our children some exciting news about them having a new baby brother or sister. We ordered from the children’s menu and also 3 x signature burgers. The children’s portion of chicken bits didn’t taste of chicken and the meat inside wasn’t white meat chicken and tasted fowl. When the burgers arrived we were eating and as I was eating mine I noticed that the burger was raw in the middle. I then asked the waitress if the meat was fresh and I was told that the burgers are bought in frozen and cooked. This was completely unacceptable serving partly cooked meat. I informed the waitress and I was told the manager will be over to speak with us. The manager came to the table and spoke with us, I mentioned the chicken bites were disgusting and not edible plus the burger was not cooked properly. When I mentioned this to him he laughed under his breath and said the chicken was real chicken and it’s fine. Which I felt was a really poor way of dealing with my issue with the food. The manager removed the burger from the bill however I don’t think this was good enough as the whole experience of our news was tainted due to the food quality and behaviour of the manager. We spent almost £100 on dinner and we feel that there was no value and our news was tainted due to the food and the poor management of our issues with the food.

Bit disappointed as had heard nice things. Lots of items on the menu were out of stock. Food was well presented but starters were pretty small, and the pork main was really tough. Cutlery wasn't replenished between courses we had to steal it off another table.
