Absolute ripoff! Went to York IT Services and was told that it would cost 438 GBP to fix, buying a new computer would be cheaper, and that it would take 4 weeks. After not wanting to spend that kind of money, I was still charged 45 GBP for them looking at my computer. They also refused to call me since I have an international number and told me they would email me once they looked at my computer. They never emailed me, I had to call them twice. I later went to KIT York in hope of some better news. KIT York was able to fix my computer in TWO DAYS and charged me 148 GBP instead. That is a 290 GBP difference! My computer is as good as new and it took almost no time to fix. The people working at KIT were also quite nice unlike the people at York IT Services who aren't unfriendly but aren't firendly either. The people at KIT also gave me a new charger for free. Skip York IT Services go straight to KIT.

Came in worrying about my laptop, but they took a quick look over, were very friendly, fixed the problem immediately (loose screws), and didn’t charge me! Absolutely amazing people.

Brilliant service, friendly team and really quick turnaround. All priced very fairly! Second time using York IT services and will be my go to!

Summary: extremely helpful, knowledgeable and understanding when it comes to assisting customers who don't have a clue about IT and need a little guidance and a substantial repair!I cannot recommend York IT Services highly enough. After a liquid spillage I took my laptop to a very helpful chap named Matt, who diagnosed the problem within 12 hours (actually a dying hard drive rather than a liquid issue). I was offered a repair of the old machine, to buy a new one direct from them, or to source a new one myself. It was a rather difficult and stressful time being without my laptop but the team at York IT services were always very willing to answer my (sometimes rather stupid) questions! Having opted to buy the new machine directly from them, at a very competitive price, there was a very rapid turnaround in transferring my files over before things were ready. For a chap who doesn't know much about computers and relies heavily upon one to work, it was a very stressful time but I was very well informed and guided by Matt.Thanks to York IT Services for all their help!

All the staff are friendly, approachable, polite and avoid using jargon. Their service was really efficient. While they confirmed that my laptop was beyond repair, their email explaining this was enough evidence for a successful claim with my insurer. So a huge thank you to York IT Services, it was definitely worthwhile going in for an assessment.

So far, excellent. Worked with Matt to select and order a new laptop, get it set up with information transferred across from old laptop, so all ready to go. No issues at all once at home, love the laptop.

Totally recommend. Matt was very clear about the possible issues with my PC and explained in his emails what the options and likely costs were. As it happens the problem wasn't the worst/most costly of the two main possibilities and I had the PC back within 72 hours of leaving it with him. Communication and service very clear and prompt and very reasonably priced.

My PC stopped working. Normally I can fix such things myself, but not this time. Fortunately I took it to these guys and within 24 hours they had completely sorted the problem. They also offered me an excellent value upgrade (with no sales pressure at all) which has made the PC so much faster. All done with great courtesy. Brilliant!

Grandson was unable to complete construction of his computer took to IT Services assured no problem they could fix it, all done within 48hrs. At a fantastic price, fantastic service explained what they had done and where he had gone wrong.Encouraging him not to be afraid to take on projects again.Have used them on previous occasions always five start service.

Just bought a new laptop from them. Less than 10% more expensive than from an online warehouse and well worth paying the extra for the advice offered (and for supporting an independent). Paid for in home installation, again, a good investment as I get another 45 days to contact them for help, should I need it. Appointment was booked for 10am and the chap was very punctual and pleasant.Now squaring up to the new machine and hoping that I'll be able to operate it effectively!!
