KAL - Leeds Road Sports Complex

It's a Kirklees Council sports complex consisting of indoor and outdoor football pitches, rugby, cricket pitches, indoor bowling and running track with field facilities. There are free public toilets and users showers, and vending machines near reception where youcan also book and see notice board with local sports going on.There are 2 carparks one tarmacced nearer the indoor facilities and a rubble carpark nearer the playing fields, both are FREE including access to playing fields.A super place even just to have a family walk or fun on the grass.We sometimes just go here to chill and watch the goings on, as quite a nice place near to canal and greenway footpaths.Can be accessed on foot or by train at Deighton, buses between Huddersfield- Dewsbury- Leeds and road.Loses one star for rubble carpark (and odd potholes) and lack of maintenance of the refuse points/bins and signposting once through gate or signage from railway station.

Outdoor facilities still in use....but not for inside.Over time a massive, pothole has developed by the main gate and required urgent attention. Cannot miss but could damage vehicles even at the slow pace.

Playing area good place to sit in carpark to eat mcds or kfc. Then walk the dog. Just a shame some people don't clear up there dog mess after them

My children love this place.. they had good time playing football

Great place to take a group out for football for a few hours. It has a great pitch with its massive size and real goals. The staff are all helpful and friendly and it isn't too expensive to book out for 1 or 2 hours if you split the cost between your group. The only issue I would have is the fact its almost always booked by teams or other groups but other then that its a great place to go with mates or with a group.

Good Sunday morning workout and its free

This place has amazing facilities here, an indoor 3g pitch, an outdoor 3g pitch, and a huge field next to it which hosts cricket matches as well as fitting 2 11-a-side and a rugby pitch on the same field! It even has a third grass pitch right at the back close to the canal. This place also boasts an outdoor running track where athletics clubs train with a small sized football cage next to it.There are also changing facilities located indoors with toilets which also include showed areas.I am somebody who has used every one of these facilities for athletics training as well as football training and 11-a-side matches. If you're wanting to play a big game of football with with a large group of friends then I wouldn't hesitate to use this place.
