Martins Guest House

Stayed in the cottage a while back and was a great space the room was wonderfully clean and nicely decorated. The hosts were wonderful and provided a great breakfast. Would love to come back soon as the stay and city was a great experiance.

Fantastic host who provided us with information about directions and places to eat. Very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for him. Amazing breakfasts and great location for both the city centre and getting to Murrayfield for events.

The guest house owner is the most friendly and hospitable person we have ever met on our travel. He provided us with many travel leaflets and informed us on the best attractions and how to get there. When we had a complaint, he was quick to address and fix said issue. Breakfast was great. Would recommend.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The whole place was immaculate and the rooms were a great size. Great value for money, short and lovely walk into the city centre. Cannot recommend this place enough.

This beautiful little BMB was one of my highlights in Edinburgh. The service was fantastic. Our room was beautiful. With an inviting lounge and breakfast area. My favourite part was Wolfgang. Best place ive stayed in a while. I would recommend this for couples and families.

Starting with the good, the room was Top-tier with great attention to detail. One of the nicest rooms I've stayed in.As for the owner, he seemed nice on the surface, but if I'm being honest I found him a little overbearing and controlling. When I arrived he corralled me into a sitting room, where I ended up waiting for a solid 20 minutes while he chatted. I certainly wasn't early, so my room should have been ready, and I just wanted to go to my room.This overbearing nature came out again when I said I was heading out for a bite to eat. He insisted on recommending specific places I should go, pointing out places via the map on my phone. This might sound like an innocent attempt to be helpful, but I neither requested nor needed recommendations, and it was another 10-15 minutes of my evening gone.Ultimately despite the great room, I ended up feeling a little creeped out and uncomfortable staying at this guest house, even if the owner meant well. Also I needed working WiFi, and the connection was next to unusable, so I wouldn't recommend using this guest how if you require stable internet. Despite the great room, I won't be staying here again.

Superb guest house, beautifully clean rooms, attention to detail is amazing.The hosts are incredible, nothing is too much trouble for them.We had a bottle of wine one night in the lounge to watch the football and the host brought us crackers, chutney and cheese-amazing, thank you.Really well positioned to reach all parts of the city.The hosts are so accommodating, this place is a must to stay at.

Everything about this place is amazing. Great location, quick walk into town or easy bus link, cafés and restaurants 5 minutes away. The decor is absolutely superb. Rooms are beautiful and clean, bed is so comfy, breakfast is amazing. I recommend Scottish breakfast and Martin's special. Martin the host is an incredibly kind and friendly person. Parking available.

lovely place to stay with great host! We had the biggest family room with a double and two twin beds. The house is impeccably maintained with great attention to detail. Superb breakfast too! Can't recommend enough!
