Went to see a friend's exhibition. Love this local gallery which offers opportunities to local artists and makes. The stairs are a bit of a challenge but I saw there is a stair lift if needed. Local history displays are interesting too.

Beautiful garden, cafe not so good. Very limited menu and service would be very slow if busy. Scones were OK but warmed in the microwave. If the cafe was improved, this wood be one of the best spots in Rottingdean.

What a shambles. The excuse was short staff. However, our order was simple 2 sandwiches (same filling) and 2 diet cokes. The order came out incorrectly. The wait for the order to be taken, and then again for the food to arrive was way too long, and it was service without a smile sadly. Paying was equally as painful. This is a disorganised organisation, and they are losing customers who walk out because of it. There are plenty of far better tea rooms, and cafes in Rottingdean, that we will be visiting next time.

We had afternoon tea in the garden. Had the most incredible Cream Tea amd 2 scones with clotted cream and jam… an extraordinary experience. The waitresses are lovely and ringing the bell to lay the bill is hilarious. This place sealed the deal with falling in love with this small village

Fantastic art gallery and museum in a lovely Georgian house busting with history. Former home of the artist William Nicholson (and his famous son Ben Nicholson). The house and gardens were extended but Lutyens and the gardens designed by Gertrude Jekyll. In the summer months you can enjoy tea and cakes in the beautiful garden. Well worth a visit.

The tea gardens are an absolute delight. I visited on a warm sunny day in late September. I sat in the shady lower garden but there was plenty of seating in the sunnier Upper garden too. A lovely calm gentle atmosphere and no sense of being hurried. Thoroughly recommend.
