Huws Gray Burscough

Unfortunately could not supply the slate chippings in the small bags I needed, but the staff were extremely helpful with their advice - have used them before and will use them again.

Visited this site 2 weeks ago to buy some blue slate was told they didn’t have any in burscough but did in formby so I travelled a 20 mile trip to their other store to pick up the slate which I needed. I then opened the packet to find that it actually contained plum slate. So I travelled to the burscough shop to return it today as I assumed with the shop baring the huws gray name that they would return their own products but no. They wanted me to travel to formby - another 20 mile trip to return what was essentially a faulty item. Very poor customer service

The lad on the gate was very helpful and polite BUT counter staff were just terrible, no eye contact, no manners. I gave my £500 order to the competitor down the road. These lads are either poorly trained or under too much pressure. Either way you lost my business.

Great team at the burscough branch always get the materials on site for me even with short notice couldn’t be happier with the service.

This yard looks really messy and uncared for, due to various plastic packaging waste & litter all over and messy entrance spoils things. Appears irresponsible and no pride in business.

Customer service at its worst. Both the counter and the yard staff are devoid of social skill, personality and good manners. The only exception to them is the young lady called Sam who has manners, is very pleasant and can use a Hi Ab very skillfully on her deliveries. If you want any sort of customer service drive another 30 seconds up the road and go to Firwood building supplies on the same estate

Just been to pick up 2 tons of grit sand and 10 bags of cement and it cost £203.16. Exactly the same product at Berry’s costs £173.18 and their bags seem to be full to the top whereas Huws Gray’s are barely three-quarters full.That’s almost exactly £30 different - even though Berry’s is out of my way, that’s where I’ll be going next time. I’m sorry, but a couple of quid different would be ok, but to be over 15% different for basics is inexcusable and profiteering.Plus, whilst the lads in the yard are invariably pleasant and helpful, the counter staff are rude and ignorant and slow.So, on price and service, this place falls well short of its competition - won’t be going back

Awful customer service, stood in front a guy on the phone for 5 mins and he didn't even acknowledge we were there. Went to the competition and gave them my business.

Before I was even a customer I was verbally assaulted by a member of staff for trying to park.For someone who is Autistic I found this whole encounter extremely upsetting.Note to management 1: Put signs up for customer and employee parking to avoid confusion.Note to management 2: Maybe consider customer care training for your belligerent employees. The employee in the Astra made a point of parking in 2 spaces. He must of been extremely excited to eat his sandwich or the hi vis vest was causing some sort of power trip.I'm sure the belligerent gentleman will have his side of the story to tell and yes he would be correct I did tear out there like there was no tomorrow. If I am spoken to like a 12 year old I will behave like one.On the other hand the staff and parking was by far better at Firwood, For people reading this I'd consider them 1st!

Great service, good prices, rang up today with an order and was ready to pick when arrived at a given time slot. staff where helpful and friendly
