We ordered fish plate for 2 adults and chicken for children. The place is very cosy, food is delicious, staff is attentive, prices are reasonable, central location but Street is quite and lovely.Thank you, guys.Being in Edinburgh highly recommend to visit this place.

The staff and supervisor were rude, and it took 50 minutes to get your food! This bar was the first place that we visited in Scotland. Unfortunately, we have to say the experience was awful as follows.1. I asked for Scottish cuisine advice, but a female staff said directly that we could go to another bar which serves similar Scottish food to The Kenilworth. This response shows how rude of being hospitality can be.2. I asked again to another male staff about the recommendation of food. He simply asked me to look up the menu. We find the staffs have no passion for serving and being honour of their brand.3. After finishing online ordering, we waited for half an hour, but no food was served. We went to the bar and asked how long shall we wait. The male staff said 20 minutes longer. We cannot believe we must wait 50 minutes to get food.4. As we had an appointment an hour after, we decided to cancel the order. The male staff, who might be the supervisor, accused that it was our fault to order food with them if we had only a limited time to wait. Dude, we had one and a half hour to stay in a restaurant, including accessing the inconvenient wifi and unhelpful ordering. Moreover, is it reasonable to wait for 50 minutes for the food to be ready? Plus, does the staff have no responsibility to notify customers of such a long wait?5. After the supervisor tried to proceed with the refund, he accused and scolded me again that it was our fault to order food with them. Have you ever been to any restaurant where a manager accuses and scolds customers? Great hospitality! Great manager! Great team!We sincerely hope that our disappointing and frustrating experience would never happen to you!

My wife and I were very impressed with the menu choices, and have every intention of a follow up visit in the near future. We were also delighted to sit in the Sir Walter Scott Vault room, away from the main bar, nice and cosy on a cold October evening in Edinburgh. My wife was particularly impressed with the Vegetarian cottage pie and the bar staff were excellent.

Had a couple of drinks here and an amazing pie (at 21.45 I was surprised they still served but I am glad they did, that pie was great!). Atmosphere was nice, seating not optimal but they made do with the space they have. Service was acceptable, spoke to a barman who was very helpful but also overheard some people talking about how obvious it was that one person clearly didnt like their job, which I noticed too, maybe just a bad day :). Would go back for more pie and drinks, though with so many options around I will try some other places before I can judge what I liked most.

Beautiful old pub on Rose Street just away from the busiest streets in Edinburgh. Interiors are historic and have recently been restored with a lovely wooden bar, and incredibly ornate high ceilings.Don’t miss the small room tucked away at the back, great for a quiet catchup or a game of cards. At Christmas they have mulled wine and a few other festive options. Great spot to shelter from the rain on a cold winter night!

Came with a group for dinner and drinks. Located on Rose Street in Edinburgh. Good selections of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. We also had dinner and I ordered the sausage mash which was quite tasty. Their haggis is also quite good. Overall we had a good experience here and definitely would recommend.

Stumbled upon this pub by accident a few days ago, and very glad we visited it! It's got a great atmosphere and the food is good. Definitely recommend stopping in for a drink / some food if you are in the area.
