I came today with my friend and our babies who are 11 months old. We had a packet of baby crisps and some cucumber with us for the babies and we were going to order food and drink for ourselves from the cafe. When my friend went in to order, she was told that we could not sit outside the cafe because we had brought our own food. She explained that the snacks were for the babies and we were ordering for ourselves but we were still told we were not allowed to sit there.I understand that you don’t want the cafe used as a picnic area but to tell us we are not allowed to sit outside the cafe because our babies are eating a bit of cucumber whilst sitting in their pushchairs is just ridiculous. We decided to leave without ordering anything!

Great little café serving a full range of chilled and hot drinks plus savoury and sweet snacks and treats.Well stocked, great freshly ground coffee and service with a smile from friendly and attentive staff.Lots of information about allergens & intolerance so all food & drink is safe for all.

We always make a point of popping in for a coffee when we've been for a walk round the mere, and always found the coffee very high standard. The lovely ladies are really friendly and love to join in with a laugh and a chat when they can, but even when they're busy they always have time to be polite and friendly. Thanks to all concerned, you are appreciated.

Just spotted a couple of negative reviews here, that I cannot for the life of me understand. My wife and I and our dog walk to the Mere nearly every Saturday, and get a coffee and a snack from GG's. The staff are always lovely and friendly, and we look forward to our visit and treat every week. It's become a very popular place now, and combined with a walk around - or just taking a seat to enjoy the view - the lake, it's a real asset to the area. Some folk will complain about anything!

Worst service I can ever recall in a coffee shop. Miserable & obstinate. A request to have my espresso in the cup I provided was met with a tirade of garbage: we don't do that"..."Why not?"..."We only use takeaway cups... we put lids on". Most coffee shops realise the environmental folly of disposable cups & stupid lids that get removed & thrown away in seconds. Not here. The unfriendly attitude continued when our 2yr old walked down the side of the shop. Glares through the window were soon followed by being ordered away. Absolutely no idea of what it takes to deal with customers. Will bring my own coffee on future visits to the lake. This place needs to change its attitude before this customer ever returns."

Having viewed pictures on line of cups and mugs disappointed on arrival to be told only serve in paper cups. Of course didn't order their website made it a wasted journey.

I walk around the Mere regularly and always stop for a coffee at the end of the walk.I was really surprised to see some of the negative reviews as my positive experience is why I always return.I find all of the staff very chatty and very smiley. The coffee is always great, and as a coffee addict, if it wasn’t great I would come back week after week.If you are in the area, walk around this lovely mere and stop off at GG’s for a cuppa afterwards. You will definitely not be disappointed.
