I attended St Aidan’s from Year 7 to 11 and left with good set of results which helped me move on to A Levels and now uni. My little brother attends now (in Year 8), he tells me about the changes to homework and how there is no carry on in his lessons. When I am home I see how hard he works and generally how he just wants to work hard and achieve his best. I almost wish I was back there.... my mother is gobsmacked by the change in him as he wasn’t really into working hard at primary.

This is by far the worst school in SunderlandThey have this ridiculous file that weighs a tonne and is called 100% book and you copy out a worthless piece of writing and it plies anxiety and stress on the students along with all of the other homework that is given to the studentsYou can get detention for doing the slightest of things wrong e.g. walking on the wrong side of a metre wide corridorI would recommend sending your kids to anywhere else

Used to go here and was honestly a terrible experience. The first couple of years weren't actually that bad but in my last 2 years they started adding dumb things like these folders which we had to copy out of which was a massive waste of time and school money. Additionally students would be made to sit in silence in class which doesn't create a healthy learning environment and damages sociak skills which are used in everyday life. Also you woukd get detentions for the most dumb things and you wouod just be treated like a bunch of sheep. Instead of tackling real issues they wouod just focus on the little things than it the grand scheme of things didn't matter at all. There were some good teachers here and there but the things I pointed out just ruined the whole experience. The sixth form isn't that much better if anything it's worse. Best thing I ever did was leave this school and transfer elsewhere haven't regretted it and has improved my life drastically.

Don’t often post things on Google but the difference in my son since he has started St. Aidan’s meant I had to. He loves the routines and believes his hard work and perseverance will lead to him achieving great results at the end of his time there. The staff can’t do enough for him and his peer group. Have recommended the school to many of my friends who have already contacted for a tour apparently.

I went to St Aidan's and absolutely loved the school. I am happy that my nephew now goes to this school. He tells me about the great work they do with the community. It is nice to see that he is very focused in lessons and is growing up to be a respectable young man. This is down to the staff at St Aidan's. Keep it up!

I attend St Aidan's Catholic Academy it's a great school- it's strict but it's good because you can get on with your work and achieve a lot. The core values are there to help guide us everyday. I can walk along the corridors without be pushed and shoved and understand exactly what I have to do to be successful in life. The staff are very friendly and poor behaviour is not tolerated. I feel safe and enjoy school.

This is by far the best school in Sunderland, strong traditional values where the boys achieve very highly compared to other school in the northeast. My son loves it and loves the clear routines and practices. If you want your son to be successful in life then send him to St Aidan’s Catholic Academy - private school ethos without the cost!

Horrendous school treats their students like cattle and is too busy spending money on folders to buy needed things like fixing the food lab or chairs that support students backs. A few of their top teachers dont even know the subject their teaching and rely solely on the power points given to them which creates a learning environment which targets students for speaking out on issues in the school or explaining issues with their work or behavior instead choosing to punish students for unnecessary reasons. One of the main safeguarding leaders also leaked a students who's social services records to every parent of the school and faced no punishment or repracution.
