The surrounding woods are lovely however the well was a disappointment. The well is in a poor state of repair and largely made of concrete. The surrounding traditional ribbon decorations are bedraggled and messy looking. The historical traditions and folk lore are a lot more romantic than the reality when you get there. Just enjoy walking in the woods.

An interesting place to visit. Better than Munlochy's Clootie Well since that one was largely cleared.

I think for the amount of people including lots of kids that visit the well the Forestry Commission could come up with a plan to make it more attractive and more informative .

As others have said it does have an air of neglect, but generally it's just a point on a walk in the woods.
