First time for me,busy like the M25,cars everywhere and hectic, pitches close to each other and a bit ramshackle but enjoyed the afternoon watching the local boys beat some other side.hard to leave after is a down side.

Nowhere to park and risk of parking tickets. No facilities.

We have visited multiple times during the lockdown and it always wears the kids out. It has a playground, an outside gym and a climb, swing and jump course which the kids stay on forever. There is also a five a side like goal and basketball setup. If you carry on past the park there is multiple goal posts and full size pitches. It's well maintained and a good place for the kids to burn off energy

Large, very exposed open area.Essentially it's a series of grassroots level football pitches that are used on Sundays.... which means that on a Sunday it's utter chaos, as are the surrounding roads due to parking.Unfortunately there's very little else going on at any other time or day.It actually has an amazing history with Iron Age and Roman activity, it was a racecourse back in the 1800s, it also served as a heavy anti-aircraft battery during WW2 and the landing site of the first plane seen over Derby in 1912.Unfortunately there's absolutely nothing to tell people about this and most people don't realise.

Great size but really damp boggy ground after a down pour and stays that way for a few days as it's slow to dry out. It seems like the fields get over used as well worn around centre spots and goals. Terrible for parking on a Sunday when it's full of football games.
