West Country Academy of Drama

I've had extremely good experience with tutors at the academy; I have been guided thoroughly with learning for exams and for my own personal development. I've never felt more encouraged, and through the extremely knowledgeable tutors, I have progressed massively.The academy is in a good central location which is within walking distance of town centre, and it has a good variety of classes available to all abilities.

As a very mature student I was hesitant about undertaking drama training. Having taken the first step I will so glad I did. The enthusiasm Chas has for his craft is infectious and his classes are great fun. With his can do attitude to acting I am very confident about developing my skills and look forward to every session.

I have just joined the academy. For someone who struggles with anxiety, this is a fantastic breath of fresh air. My tutor, Chas, is not only a great teacher but he is also a very understanding individual. He's helped me come on leaps and bounds and already I've learnt some great techniques. Can't wait to see what the future holds.Highly recommended.

My 10 year old son has a passion for drama and we feel incredibly pleased that we have found an academy that will tailor the teaching of skills to the individual pupil. The classes are small giving the pupils the time and attention to really hone their skills and to receive a very personalised session which then develops over the course of time. My son comes out of his classes buzzing from the knowledge he has learnt and the time that he has had to develop and express himself. He is gaining more confidence and his ability to deliver a moving performance is improving all the time. Chas, Vicky and the other teachers are inspirational, kind and very talented.

Brilliant training, all of the teachers at the academy are fantastic, and they really work hard to bring out the best in you. My confidence has gained a massive boost since joining, and I am already making great progress in acting as well as in other areas of my life as a result of the mentoring and support I have recieved through the academy. Would thoroughly recommend!

As a returning learner to acting after almost a decade I was, as expected, highly nervous! Those nerves were eradicated within the first session with Chas. Then when Rob joined the Academy I was very fortunate to be one of his first students. There are no words to describe how phenomenal he is as a coach, he provides you with the guidance to make leaps in your craft! We’ve just drawn up an action plan for me to take the first steps into achieving my goals of being a professional actress. WCAD has been the best decision I have made in pursuing my dreams.

Long overdue review, but coming to the Gloucestershire Drama Academy is one of the best decisions I have ever made. Chas is a wonderful teacher and mentor, and caters to everyone who is looking to get involved in the trade. For the first month of training, he provides one-to-one sessions before putting you in a small group. As someone with social anxiety, I found this very, very helpful.

I have only recently joined Gloucestershire Drama Academy but am really enjoying it so far! The teachers are really lovely and very welcoming. I have met some amazing people and I have leant an incredible amount. As a consequence my confidence has grown.

Chas Burns is easily one of the best drama and performance mentors I've ever had the pleasure of working with. I use the term mentor instead of teacher as I feel it's more appropriate.
