Lovely wood. Sadly they've now closed off the majority of it to allow it to regrow/recover. Gets very busy, particularly since Covid, when people started discovering the countryside. Very small car park - only holds about 6 cars.

I've not long moved to this area of the country so thought I would explore. My dog isn't that friendly so I give people a nice distance so I thought I would go off the paths. I was enjoying the walk and then we got lost. Was lost for over 3 hours. I was actually preparing myself for sleeping there the night. I did start to panic. When the sun was going I started shouting for help. I was walking 20-30 steps and really shouting loud. 40 mins into this I spotted someone and they gave me directions out of the place. I love a challenge and this definitely was one. I do plan on returning at some point

If you want to see breathtaking bluebell woods look no further. There are acres of these magnificent protected flowers set amid a glorious wood just emerging into leaf in Hitchwood Lane near Gosmore a charming village with two pubs near Hitchin where you can enjoy a pub lunch. There is a car park near the woods and you can enjoy walks along designated footpaths.

A beautiful woodland which blossoms with a carpet of stunning bluebells and in the Autumn you can stand and watch mesmerized as thousand of leaves blow from the trees..The only thing that lets it down are some dog walkers who are happy to bag up their dog poo then leave it on a post..the floor or tie it to a tree! TAKE IT HOME!!

Great as ever. Bluebells give a lift to the heart.Shame dog walkers insist on leaving poo bags everywhere.

Fantastic scenery as the bluebells are out and it looks beautiful, always visit with the children who like to investigate the dens that are made from the trees.

Okay so the woods are beautiful, but very creepy there only some marked tracks you're allowed to go. And we went in a season of blue bells and guess what no blue bells at all..
