Student Roost - Hydrogen -Student Accommodation

They threw half of my belongings in the middle of a pandemic without me knowing.I left my room for a few weeks but I planned to come back and my contract WAS STILL GOING but they said they'd throw all my things because of a miscommunication between staffs. All my shelf food, kitchen utensils, water filters, silverwares, cleaning supplies, etc were all gone when i came back to my room. They still haven't done anything to compensate for my loss after 2 months. They didn't even take my complains seriously.

We worked with Student Roost -Hydrogen, to offer their students a fun and engaging activity (Smoothie Bike). They were clear in their communication and provided prompt payment for the service. We look forward to working with Student Roost later this year.

BAD EXPERIENCE, staffs are negligent and irresponsible. The packages are frequently missing, and if there are any issues, they simply state UNFORTUNATELY. In the summer, rooms are unusually hot, and many people must book a hotel or sleep in the hallways; water pipes and faucets are constantly in need of repair! This can take a long time. Very dissatisfied with the service attitude, and I felt helpless and embarrassed while losing many packages. There was no one to assist you, and you had to prove the issues on your own.

I had a fantastic experience staying at the Hydrogen Roost accommodation. The place boasts excellent connectivity, making it convenient for both work and leisure activities. As a student, safety was a top priority for me, and I was pleased to find that Hydrogen Roost is a very secure place to live. Overall, I highly recommend it to fellow students looking for a comfortable and safe living environment.

I can only say that the superior location is the only advantage here. First of all, the equipment here is old and terrible, especially when you take a shower in winter and turn on the tap but there is no hot water. This is not a one-time problem. Even if you report the same problem in the next month or next week, maybe next day, it will happen again. Second, the reception staff here are unprofessional, they will lose your package and put away your questions, but I will make a special note that one of the reception ladies was very nice and helpful. Third, the fatal point for me is that it will not help you deal with problems after they occur, but delay the matter. Now that prices have risen, the rent has indeed become very expensive. At the same price, I would suggest that you choose a better place, even if the traffic may not be so convenient.

I have lived at Hydrogen since Nov22 and move out in September23. My experience has been very positive. The staff on reception are so friendly and helpful- around 24/7, and follow up issues quickly. The social spaces are modern and a great space to work in. They put on events fairly regularly, but maybe not quite as often as other student roost buildings- more events/activities would’ve been good. My room was a great space- (I had a silver studio), and it was big and modern (gray carpets and gray walls, unlike the photos that look much more run down) but am aware not all rooms are updated yet. I was on the 1st floor and expected lots of noise, but the windows block out most of the noise and it’s actually really quiet at night! Shower, heating and hot water works perfectly, unlike what some of the reviews say. Location is fantastic, bus service, tram service and NTU city campus all within 5 min walk- and right in central city centre. Overall, really loved my time at Hydrogen!

The second year I lived in this school flat, my bike was locked in the flat parking area and was stolen, CCTV couldn't see a clear picture of the person. There was no way to find the thief. I lived on the sixth floor and it was so hot on this floor that it was almost impossible to live normally. The temperature of the room forced me to spend the night in a nearby hotel. It is not recommended to stay in this flat.

One of the best accomodation for students especially for NTU- Nottingham Trent University.

Within a short walking distance (3 minutes) to NTU City Campus, the location is great for access to the city centre.Could be considered expensive for what is included, however when you factor in the location (no daily bus/tram travel costs for uni journeys) and the 24/7 reception team, I found it suited me best.The Royal Centre tram stop is also right outside (so if you do struggle with disability/mobility issues, you could still catch the tram for 1 stop to NTU). The Hydrogen team have been very supportive of my needs, and I don't think you get that with all accommodations.There is a Costa, Oriental Supermarket, Newsagents, Cob Shop, and Starbucks all within a minute's walk of Hydrogen as well.
