Ross & Roberts Limited

One of their staff took a deposit off me for a holiday and then moved away and has been ignoring all our messages, Luckily, I know she works here so I can serve a Small Claims Court summons against her at work, but I can't believe they chase debt and tell people how important it is to pay your creditors, yet employ bailiffs who don't do this themselves!!

Absolutely disgusting, dishonest company. Clearly want to make people's lives even more difficult In this already difficult time. I have been paying my amount each month and each month they either send letters or messages demanding payment. Even after I contact them and it continues. Today I get a hand delivered letter and an extra fee added for the pleasure of the visit. Sort yourselves out .

I don’t think I’ve ever spoken to people more unwilling to help. I understand I’ve got a debt to pay, that isn’t the problem at all. The problem is their unwillingness to accept an offer that i can actually afford to pay. I was off work for a while due to my personal medical conditions and i told them i couldn’t afford what they were asking from me, but they didn’t care. They told me they couldn’t change the amount and if i didn’t pay it they would send the enforcers round to take my belongings to settle the debt. I offered an amount I could pay, but they refused it and said it was too low, even though that’s all I could afford. Now I’m stuck with a payment plan I can’t afford to pay, and constantly have to keep asking friends and family for money so I don’t get bayliffs round my house, which leads to more stress and anxiety and more money worries with trying to pay everybody back. I sincerely hope people don’t ever have to deal with this company because they are horrible, unkind and uncaring people.

So a few weeks ago I was sent a letter from this company about a debt I owed from 5 years ago.. was asked to call to deal with the debt, so I called spoke to lady who was fairy nice but also being difficult when we were agreeing on a payment plan told her I couldn't cover full debt especially now with the cost of living crisis. Eventually we came to a deal as I had to make it clear it would affect other bills to pay more. I paid a small fee upfront and then we had a date set to make the payments. Two weeks on I have now had an email and text messages now asking me to pay in full!? And I don't understand why? I made the agreed payment so as far as I'm concerned this would contine till the amount was covered. However now they have gone against the agreement made and I'm not sure what to do? I'm 33 weeks pregnant and could do without the stress. Iv tried to call a few times to ask why they are doing this but no one is answering. Now I'm afraid of them sending the heavies round to intimate me to pay the full amount. has this happened to anyone else??

Thieves, sent scam letter which says that I owe council tax and have to pay 403£. If not pay ASAP I have to pay extra 345£ enforcement fee as well.Checked my online council tax balance and find out that all monthly payments are done and there is no outstanding debt.

Called today to try and sort my supposed debt out.Apparently it was council tax, but being a student I obviously don't have any to pay, and as soon I mentioned that they hung up and gave no more information. Still trying to chase this up but instead being met with the same response.If I end up having more debt because of this or having to pay extra I will be holding the operator responsible for hanging up whilst I was trying to sort out payment.

Completely unhelpful and clearly a bunch of heartless cowards, threatening to send bailiffs when trying to sort a payment plan out which apparently they wont do… and the fact they have a section for vulnerable customers but don’t even mention it or ask about it is just horrid! Who’d of thought just moving out of a house would cause this!

Awful, awful cowboys. In 2021, my parents moved house and during their house moving process they briefly used my nans address as a care-of for their post. Forward to August 2022, and my nan contacts my parents saying she has received a letter from Ross and Roberts for non-payment of council tax. My parents are up-to-date on their council tax, so are naturally surprised to find a letter has been sent to my nans (my mother's mum) detailing the usual threats to enter her property and take goods.My nan is a frail 88-year-old widower, so we phone up Ross and Roberts and explain that whatever is going on, it is nothing to do with my nan, and they are to desist sending letters to her address and are to remove her address from their system, to which they agree. A month later, my nan calls up in floods of tears saying a Miss Bradmore has posted a hand-delivered note threatening to come back later in the week to remove goods. Now this thing, which looks like a troll, must know she can't just rock up and enter any old house, but that's all part of the intimidation and what better target for this lowlife than an 88-year-old widower.Furious, we call Ross and Roberts and make a complaint about why the chap on the phone didn't stick to his word and why my nan has had a personal visit from Miss Bradmore. We remind them to remove the address or else there will be legal ramifications, to which they once more agree. This was on 5th September 2022. We are now in January 2023, and she has received a further 7 threatening letters. We are now pursuing Ross and Roberts through the Financial Ombudsman Service.This company are simply scum. The lowest of the low and quite how they sleep at night is beyond me. I hope they go out of business.

I find this company great. They are only doing what they are told. Robots. It is our government and “elected representatives”that we should be ashamed of, we are forced to pay to live and this money lines their and their subcontractors’ (Capita, etc) pockets. They all work together, with companies like this (who have friends in government) to make sure they can extract as much money from you as possible, all whilst providing nearly nothing for their “hard earned cash”. Taxation is theft.

Emailed the company when received first letter of missed payments when my ex and I used to live together obviously it’s me that’s getting letters from Ross and Roberts and not him don’t know why I’ve told them to contact him as well obviously not doing so. Been paying back monthly on a direct order from bank like I explained to them and for them to send round a lady for removal notice. Lady was nice and understanding as I don’t have the money on me at the moment till end of the month. Maybe the company needs to read emails and actually hold onto their end of bargain when both ends come to a payment plan
