Absolutely Horrible experienceBooked car for some repairs in Dec 2014. initially they couldn't diagnose the problems and promised the car will work fine. Then it went back to square one the same day after collecting the car. Was booked again and they said they found the problem. When booked again they said the courtesy car request which was confirmed did not come to them and hence no car available. Booked again with a courtesy car and they did not issue the car as I forgot the licence which was emailed to them before hand. I do not think they understand customer relations as very unfriendly staff especially at after sales department., Will never go there again.

Bought a nice used (but near new) car from here and had to suffer with some fairly agressive salesman tactics. Main cause for complaint is that the warranty" the car came with wasn't worth the paper it was printed on. As soon as it was off the forecourt they didn't want to know about the various minor defects that had been either covered up by polish or simply ignored and didn't come to light until after I had had the car for a few days. Never going to any Stratstone ever again!"

Bought an XJ Exec. Described by salesman as 'TWO owners, and of similar spec to Sovereign'. Log book was missing so I didn't find out till fortnight after taking delivery that it had FOUR previous owners. By now I discovered it was also well short of Sovereign spec. Worse, it had a mystery rattle. Stratstone's Service were unable to trace source and asked me to 'keep driving it till it gets louder'. It didn't, so took it back. Same result. After repeated attempts, and eight months of this infuriating noise Sales boss (Simon Lloyd) agreed an 'exchange' was the only thing to do. But time went by with no offer from him of anything (he was 'very busy') so I began trawling Stratstone's sites. When I found something suitable Lloyd informed me I'd not be getting a swap - instead he devalued my XJ by £4000. So I'd paid Stratstone's for the privilege of putting up with a very annoying car in the vain hope they might cure it. I felt as if Lloyd had put his hand in my wallet and stolen £4000. Will never deal at Luton again - at least not while he is there.Have just purchased an XF from Milton Keynes. Salesman (Nuttall) played hardball and refused to budge on anything so was left feeling less than happy. Big pressure to pay £400 for 12month's warranty which I declined. Experience so far has done little to ease my bad feelings for Stratstone's but I have my fingers crossed. Will keep you posted...Found grass cuttings behind rear seat, sweet papers on the floor, mud in the boot and a snag in the back of the front seat squab. Tyres looked worn but salesman was unwilling to consider changing them. I have personalised plates so had to have both cars taxed and the DVLA sent paperwork to me when I discovered that the MOT report highlighted 'tyres worn on inside edges'. When I phoned Nuttall to report this he told me that the plates would not be ready for the next day's arranged pick up. I'd had enough by now and cancelled the whole deal - even though I would have to suffer c £200 loss via DVLA. Salesman at first told me I would lose my £500 deposit but soon backed down. His boss phoned soon after and did a good job at getting me back on side by promising it would have four good tyres and impressing me with assurances of 'good will'.Another disappointment was that when Stratstone sell a car they add on £79 Admin Fee!!! This is not mentioned till you're about to sign up. The proper plates were sent down to Luton and I had them fitted there - but I had specified Euro ones which these were not!! I phoned salesman to apologise I had not yet been able to find the spare key but was hopeful that I would. His response was 'They're not cheap'. I told him I didn't intend buying a replacement - the car was 7 years old and would in all likelihood be disposed of via auction. Next found more rubbish inside car pockets but worse: the whole of the back of the driver's seat was covered with something like black boot polish that my granddaughter found because it got all over her white Tee shirt. It apparently had to do with the repair of the snag. It took an hour and much white spirit to remove it from the car but the tee shirt was thrown away. Salesman (Nuttall) phoned to tell me a replacement key would cost (me) £251. I again made it clear I wouldn't pay for it whereupon he became sarcastic and thanked me very much for my 'kind cooperation in this matter' - and promptly hung up. I emailed his boss to report all of the above. He responded with the offer to have the car back for 'a thorough valet'. I replied I thought it best for both of us if we had as little to do with each other as possible.

Bought my X-Type from them in June 2010. Salesman was James but he has long since departed. Everything was as I would expect, I was treated well for a 23 yr old when I walked in there, and I drove a few X-Types before he helped me find the right one. I have the car now still and they've been good to me over the years. I now do all but the major work myself and use a Indy up in MK for MOTs, so I don't really see these guys anymore. I also hear the dealer is closing down in May. These guys have been good to me, so I'll have to see how good Stratstone MK are when or if I decide to change my awesome motor.
