Alistair Brown - Ayrshire Bagpiper

Alistair piped at our wedding at Culzean Castle last weekend. He performed beautifully and certainly completed the day and helped to make it so special. The guests absolutely loved it and from that first note, which we heard whilst getting ready in the castle, the piping brought that extra bit of magic. Thank you Alistair - you were great.

Alastair recently composed a beautiful tune for my brother's special birthday.My brother was delighted with it and thought it was 'an amazing present'.Alastair composed the tune, based on feedback from ourselves, and kept us updated on progress.  We would highly recommend Alastair.  He provided a fantastic service and we were really pleased with the tune and the signed sheet music.   A truly unique gift.

I cannot recommend Alistair enough! If you are after a piper for any part of your day, book Alistair! There was a few classic songs I was after, all which Alistair knew and played perfectly, he got back to me with all queries I had before booking which put me to ease and booking during covid times.Alistair greeted our guests on arrival to the church on the wettest day of August 2021 and he was there for me arriving 20/25 minutes later. There is nothing I love more than hearing bagpipes when I arrive at an event. Our mums and bridesmaids walked down the aisle to the Skye Boat song (obsessed with Outlander). I walked down the aisle with my dad to Highland Cathedral (few tears brought on by the sound of the pipes, all men admitting this funnily enough).Our string quartet advised us not to have bagpipes on arrival to the Brig O’Doon so we had only planned on having Alistair to pipe in the top table buttttt when we eventually got there I was overjoyed to hear the pipes (I certainly did not hear the string quartet at all as they were inside). So I’d highly recommend booking Alistair to pipe arriving to venue also as it’s so special. Cannot thank you enough for this Alistair!Finally! Alistair piped us in for our meal which I loved as it makes such a proper entrance!Thank you again Alistair, I won’t hesitate to book you again or recommend you!

Alistair recently played the pipes at my daughters wedding, his friendly professional manner made the booking process easy. Alistair’s pipe playing was fantastic he played as guests were arriving, piped the newly weds out of the ceremony and then again into dinner ( for this he learned a song chosen by the couple which they were delighted with). Alistair was extremely smart in appearance and just knew what to do without any fuss carrying out what had been pre arranged in a quiet confident cheerful manner. Alistair was absolutely first class through every stage of the tune writing process. We got to make lots of choices to completely personalise our tune and Alistair advised with his expertise along the way!Our tune is beautiful and brought lots of happy tears at our wedding. So chuffed to also have the sheet music framed in our room.Would highly recommend!
