Yet another fantastic meal.NO it's mot cheapNO 2 for 1 deals ... BUT when you consistently deliver food of great quality, fantastic taste, well presented, served by courteous, happy (and I mean genuinely happy to work there) staff, there is no reason to lower your prices or your standards. One of the big secrets of this place is they have a Vegan or vegetarian menu, which you can ask for, complementing those vegetarian items already included on the main menu but giving you a much better choice than the usual mushroom stroganoff or pasta salad.A good wine list also.Lovely, thought out, well decorated with playful looking art on the wall (you really have to look carefully to see the jokes) creating a perfect atmosphere. If you have a well behaved dog there is even a seating area where the dog would be welcomed although they are limited so you need to book those. If there's any issues at all it would be the shape and layout of the car park but that is limited by its location on the corner of a busy countryside Junction. There were many many returning customers, ourselves included,

We went for a meal on Saturday 2nd December with family to celebrate our recent marriage.Although the Bar Area was really cosy with the log burner, after 1 hour in the Restaurant we found our feet & legs to be very cold. Our party had 2 Senior members in it who didn't want to complain whilst at the Restaurant as we all enjoyed the food.We have no complaints about the meals or desserts but we all felt that it spoilt the experience of a Special Occasion with how cold it was whilst eating.Hope you can ammend this is as we do hope to return to the Devonshire in the future.

We were looking for somewhere to meet up with friends for lunch that was halfway between us which was about 45 miles away & the Devonshire proved to be fantastic in every way. Great food, atmosphere, surroundings, service, good value.

This was our first visit to The Devonshire. It was great. The staff were friendly and efficient and tended to our needs without being overbearing. The environment was upmarket yet comfortable and inviting. The food was amazing. Everything tasted so good. Portions were large but not over priced. I had a pie and it was packed with meat, not half empty like in some places. Definitely will be going back to try more of the menu.

Staff and service good, plenty of trimmings and large portions. Unfortunately the meat wasn’t great. The beef specifically was tough, which in my opinion is what you’re paying for. Extra gravy was also charged a £1 extra which is disappointing. But the puddings were nice, recommend the cornflake tart., an East Midlands favourite.

The Devonshire
Absolutely fantastic. As we walked through the door, we were greeted by the lovely lady behind the bar. She made us feel welcome and at home whilst we waited for our table. Some of the waiting staff were very young on our visit, but they were all brilliant at their job. Nothing was too much and we were served with a smile. As for the food... oh my gosh! Delicious. We can't wait to visit again.

Went for Sunday roast.Beef was cooked nicely pink, vegetables were cooked nicely, good texture.Roast potatoes were dry and had no crunch. Sharing vegetables on a table seems a bit old fashioned to me. You'd think if they're only serving Sunday roasts they'd be serving fresh roast potatoes.Service staff couldn't remember who ordered what, and multiple different people asked us to pass things across the table instead of just walking the 1.5m to the other end of the table themselves.I would let these things slide, but for the price you pay here you expect more. It's a lot of money to eat here.Desert was nicely presented
