Excellent launderette with large machines of various sizes and great, efficient dryers. Staff are friendly and helpful.

My first impression on my first visit. Big and clean, seats available. Options of washes from £4 to £8. I chose the latter, which went on for 33 minutes. Drying cost £0.50 for 6 minutes, £1 for 12 minutes in the medium size machines. Large machine £1 for 6min and £2 for 12 minutes. Short time allocations but the machines do quite good job. The detergent dispenser is on the top of the washing machine. I'm 5ft, I had tip toe and stretch my neck to see what I was doing.The laundrette is on the main road, so easy to spot. Free parking in the adjunct road(s).Cons: unattended, no money changer. Plenty of shops nearby, but the shop owners are burdened with request for changing money to use the laundrette, so some are kind and will change £5 but others have been told by their bosses not to help. So take with you plenty of 50p, £1 & £2 coins. Last con: the area has poor Internet connection, which is needed if you're planning to watch your stuff.

I rarely write reviews but when I experience a level of service worthy of review, and I can't but not write on SHIRLEY LAUNDERETTE is relatively new replacing the old launderette. All the machines are new and current. It might be a bit pricey compared to others around the area but you may up in savings in a good wash and most especially drying.I think the driers are next generation technology. They seem to mimic nature in its efficiency to get cloths dry without over heating and damaging the fabric. Imagine a cloudy warm breezy day... Now that's what you get with these machines. The cost in total is the same as other cheap launderettes in the area. As I said, the surprising cost savings is in the 'smart dryers'.Give it a try. You would possibly want to save your personal washing machine for the little washes, lol!

6 small, 2 medium, 2 large washing machines. The largest easily took a double duvet and three pillow. Washing cycle of 33 mins.7 large dryer (£1 - 12 mins run time on high ) and 2 super size dryer (£1-6mins run time on high). I find this very tricky as you do a run, check and then run again if needed. Some items I found dry enough but on reaching home I see they could have been done more.Timer shows in all machines.Soaps are available at £1 but you will be told it is cheaper to get from outside i.e CO-OP opposite.The lady who runs the desk is very helpful and explains everything you need.

Always clean... staff are always friendly especially the lady with the blonde hair. Environment is really pleasant and really comfortable it makes a tedious task quite enjoyable.

Really clean launderette. Totally amazed me! Even the lady running the desk was is so kind. Just note, at this moment in time the new £1 coins don't work in their machines. You can use £0.50 and £2 coins as well. The big washers are huge and they even have extra large dryers. Ironing services available and there is free WiFi!!!! Collection+ drop services available. You can only park on the side roads but watch out for the double red lines. There are a couple of bay spot you can park in. It is OK, but the washing machines have a funny smell.Also they only accept coins in the machines and there is no coin machine, so you need to convince a shopkeeper to give you change (which for some reason they always seem annoyed about) my social anxiety makes this difficult for me.I prefer to go to the launderette that has a coin machine available for all customersThe dryers work very well and don't take up very much time

Great laundrette! I used a big maching to wash a pair of long heavy cotton curtains - easy to use and straightward.
