Half way through a laminate flooring installation by Superior Finish. Have just entered the room for first time at end of their first day's work and am horrified by what I see; the whole living room has been laid on the skew. You walk in from the hall and suddenly all the lines on the floor veer off to the left! It is like living inside an M. C. Escher lithograph. There is no way on God's Earth I can live with this! It is all going to have to come up - and be thrown away - and new laminate is going to have to be cut and relaid. It is the most unprofessional looking thing I have ever seen. It screams DIY/amateur" installation. There is certainly nothing "Superior" about it. They are supposed to be coming tomorrow to continue this installation through into the other living area. That is simply not going to happen. This HAS to be put right first. When you are working with an older house with slightly odd shaped rooms you find a straight line across the centre of the room and work out your horizontals and perpendiculars from that - as has been done in the hallway and as had been done on the previous installation they were replacing. You don't just ignore all aesthetics and start on an obviously strange-shaped and diagonal piece of wall and work outwards from there. The way things are at the moment this replacement flooring devalues the property rather than enhances it."

Superior finish response to u2trishIn reply to the incorrect & bad review from u2trish, I would like to make the following points..The new laminate flooring is set from a hall door where ceramic tiles are laid, and has been set out to run square from the frame and is visually straight into the room, this is the correct way to lay this type of flooring, especially in an old property and in rooms that are out of square.I have inspected the flooring, and during this visit the policy holder (the flooring was laid as an in insurance job), also informed me that they have an issue with the type of flooring, as they feel that they were not informed that the new laminate would have a micro bevel on the side of the planks.This is incorrect, as they chose the flooring from a sample swatch, and this sample has this edge on it.I am not sure how this issue will be resolved, as the flooring is 'as ordered', and is fitted by a professional laminate fitter, and not by a 'DIY/amateur', as in their review.I have now instructed the insurance company to carry out an investigation, as I know we have nothing to hide or be ashamed of.

We decided to use Superior Finish for our upstairs carpeting and bathroom vinyl based on a recommendation from a family member. We were very impressed with the overall job from the pre-sales experience in their show-room to the team that spent the day fitting out our order. We will use them again. I have to say that me and my Partner have used Superior Flooring on a number of occasions over the last 2 years. They are friendly and supportive. We did have an issue in that a set of blinds in the utility collapsed on the day of fitting and the kitchen Karndean was marked, it bugged the hell out of me as it was in one's eye line, however when I called, they did struggle to fix a date to come out but that was due to all parties having busy schedules, inconvenient? yes, but they were definitely up for putting it right as soon as possible and didn't chase me down for the money.We plan to use them again as having more work done. They are a good company but think they would benefit from having a computerised system as sometimes the waiting on the phone or in person for them to find their notes/diary entry about your account can be frustrating - but I balance this with being an impatient so and so. lolWould recommend.
