The environment was a bit crowded. We went on a weekday but it was still quite packed. Nonetheless, the food was pretty delicious and reasonably priced. We ordered the stir fried cabbage, garlic pork belly slices, pork intestine and fish hotpot and chilli lamb. Overall, the food was quite good especially the cabbage. The fish hotpot was slightly too salty but really hit the spot with the amount of chilli and sichuan peppercorn. Will definitely come back when I crave spicy food!

After aimlessly walking around Chinatown several times me and my wife finally chose this place. I got the prawn chow mein and it was ok. Didn’t seem to have much flavor but was still good. Wife got the Szechuan chicken and it was delicious but unfortunately it did not come with any rice. Later discovered that you can order rice as a side for £4.

Went there withe family.. We ordered sweet and sour soup (no pork) and vegetable tofu soup, stir fried veg and chicken dumplings for starters, then veg noodles, beef with vegs and boiled rice and scallops with ginger and green onions with egg fried rice. The hot and sour soup was really nice, needed a little more vinegar to my taste, the other soup was very mild in flavor, the dumplings were very good and the mixed vegs were as expected. The noodles lacked flavor, the beef and boiled rice were good and I really liked the scallops and ginger and the egg fried rice was excellent... Good overall, nothing special, the service was acceptable. Not a keeper but an OK to try.

Old Jinli in London is a hidden gem for authentic Sichuan cuisine. It's the perfect place to satisfy your cravings for grilled fish, hot pot, and spicy stir-fry. Tucked away in an alley across from the lobster burger joint, this restaurant never disappoints.Their dishes capture the true flavors of Sichuan, reminiscent of the delicious tastes from our hometown. The best part? You can enjoy unlimited rice with just one order, a great value compared to other London Chinese restaurants.Must-try dishes include the Fish Fragrant Shredded Pork/Kung Pao Chicken, prepared with authentic Sichuan flavors and reasonably priced. The Spicy Hot Pot offers a variety of vegetables and meats to choose from, such as yellow throat fish, duck blood, tender beef, and luncheon meat. It's not overly spicy, and the portions are generous.During our recent visit, they surprised us with zongzi, a traditional food for the Dragon Boat Festival. There's currently a 12% discount until the 25th, adding to the festive experience.Old Jinli is the place to go for an authentic taste of Sichuan in London. With reasonable prices, unlimited rice, and friendly service, it's a must-visit for a satisfying Chinese dining experience.

As a Chinese, I think the dry pot (乾鍋) is very good. You may order whatever you like. It goes very well plain rice. Not so tasty for the picked veggie fish (酸菜魚) as the fish is not the fresh type filleted fish. The service was attentive, not very usual among Chinese restaurants. There is service charge here, you can use credit here. I would say £35 per head. The decor is nice and atmosphere is ok. When we were there, a table of white people got quite drunk and talked extremely loud. I had to shout at my friend to have a conversation.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Jinli. We saw Mary Berry here on bbc and had to try it. I’ve not experienced Chinese food like this before. The flavours in each dish and quality of ingredients are worlds apart from what I have been used to. Will definitely be back soon and will be recommending Jinli without doubt.

Went here with a friend today and ordered Ho Fun and chili oil dumplings, my friend got sweet and sour chicken. His food came almost immediately, mine took forever and came cold. The restaurant itself is nice but the food wasn’t that good in the end

Nice clean restaurant with very fast service. Kung pao and duck pancakes were very tasty. Dry hotpot was also enjoyable. Good portion sizes all round too :)
