Having struggled to find a good hairstylist for years, I was recommended to Michelle by a friend and have not looked back since! Michelle and her team are always welcoming, friendly, and professional. I can't wait to have my monthly colour and her amazing styling really lasts. Strangers have commented on the quality of my cut. If you are looking for a great, local salon, then I could not recommend Beach Hair strongly enough - you won't look back.

I had THE best experience at Beach with the lovely Mel. I wanted a complete overhaul of my tired box dyed hair, and we had a big session bleaching, colouring and cutting my hair, and some great conversations too! I am so pleased with the service here, the whole team were so friendly and welcoming, and the cut and colour has had non stop compliments since having it done less than a fortnight ago. Michelle has been cutting and hi-lighting my hair for over 10 years. When I moved to Brighton, I worked my way through 5 or 6 hairdressers before finding Michelle at Beach and thank goodness I did! Over the years, it's been cropped and bobbed, highlighted and pinked and I've always, always been happy with my hair. Michelle's eye for what will and (maybe more importantly) what won't look good is a gift - thank you for all that you do!

I have been having my hair cut and coloured by Michelle for more than 13 years and I wouldn't go anywhere else. The knowledge Michelle has is second to none. The salon is so comfortable and friendly it feels like you're going to a friends house. I have been to salons in the past where I've felt out of place but at Beach there's always someone laughing and chatting, equally if you just want to read your magazine you can be left alone.I also had my first ever facial by Elle recently and it was an amazing experience so calming and relaxing. I would recommend her extensive services too

Michelle is fantastic, she has been cutting and colouring my hair for over 16 years and I wouldn't trust anyone else to do it! Her and her team are wonderful, they look after you from the moment you walk in whether it's from the cups of teas to the great head massages.If you want a gorgeous haircut in a friendly, relaxed and lovely atmosphere this is the only salon for you!!Thank you Michelle, you're the best! xx

Michelle is an excellent hairdresser and highly professional, caring and runs a brilliant salon. I've used her for a year and have nothing but praise for her. It's a pleasure for me an elderly retired gentleman of colour to have my hair cut at Beach. Hence I was totally perplexed and shocked to see the previous review referring to Michelle as a racist. That's the last thing that she is bearing in mind that the charming courteous service, tea and refreshments which I have received at all my visits. I recently had a trip to New York and booked a haircut. Michelle had covid but still provided me with an excellent hairdresser Mel who was sent to the salon to ensure that my booking took place. It was beyond what I've experienced before. Thank you Michelle and the rest of the Beach team, for your continued, excellent and charming service.

I've had my hair cut by Michelle at Beach for years. She is a brilliant very experienced stylist, who took the time to work out how my hair behaved before cutting it, ensuring that the style, and weight would work well and suit me. I've always been very happy with my cuts at Beach, and particularly pleased with how well they grow out, which I think demonstrates the high level of skill from the stylist. I would highly recommend.

I initially changed to this salon as I now have a puppy (Benjy) and was looking for somewhere he'd be welcome to come along. Grace did my hair and I am so pleased with the results, she advised me to get a 'cooler' shade of blonde and tidy the ends. I LOVE the outcome. Full head of highlights, cut and style. I do not normally write reviews and was not going to leave one however it’s important to let other potential customers and the business know of any problems. I came in for a cut however following my appointment my belief is this salon does not cater to Afro Caribbean hair at all,( my understanding is there are a handful of clients in this demographic so expected this to be a good experience due to them returning and remaining clients).I’m sure it’s good for European hair from the reviews I have seen however there are no actual tools to cater to any other type. I do not believe any training has been completed for this due to the actual service/tools and comments/staring of members of staff. This is disappointing considering Brighton and Hove is a very diverse city and as of June 2021 Afro Caribbean hair has been included as compulsory in The new National Occupational Standards for Hairdressing. I felt like I did not belong in the salon and felt like I was a trial project, comments made me feel like my hair was the problem when I know this is not the case, there just needs to be better tools and training to actually offer this service to a diverse set of clients.I am happy to discuss this privately with the salon and explain where I felt othered and uncomfortable, it may be beneficial for future clients.
