Went in because Holy Hobo was closed for food. The decor needs looked at, tables need to be sanded and waxed and chairs need fixed so they aren’t wobbly.The service was so slow! I was starting to get a bit inpatient as parking is quite expensive and you would have thought two hours for a quick lunch would have been ample enough time.I was given a jug of water but then asked a further 6 times if I wanted to order a drink from the menu. I was there for a quick lunch, water was fine. I felt uncomfortable, the waiters are very slow and don’t talk to one another so expect to sit around waiting for a long time.The restaurant was lacking. The food was good (at a push) but ingredients poor.The price of the food is really expensive for what it is.I wouldn’t recommend during the day, the evening might be better….?Service fee added to bill, can ask for this to be taken off.I don’t think I would go back tbh which is a shame as I used to like it there. I also witnessed a couple in the flats which are joint on to the building having a huge fight, screaming and shouting and a box of clothes and a rug were chucked out the window and landed quite forcefully on somebody’s car! Thankfully moved my car and drove off - it was like being in the middle of a rowdy council estate when too many cans have been consumed!

Excellent service from a guy called Kevin. The food was Luke warm/cold and very little of it. I'd go back for a drink but I'd not eat here again.

Had a very disappointing Christmas dinner As you Like it. The main course food was all stone cold, poor quality and tasteless. No vegetable accompaniments apart from cold roast potatoesTurkey obviously pre prepared and defrosted and reheated on the day.For a restaurant with a good reputation, very disappointing.An open bar at the event, serving diluted shots, especially obvious with the Baileys which resembled a shot of skimmed milk.

I did not have high expectations going into this restaurant but it is amazing!! It serves the best fish and chips I have ever had!!I could not finish as it was a massive fish and they offered to put it in a takeaway boxThe restaurant is very classy and has one of the most comprehensive drinks menu. The bar is properly stocked up with more spirits than you can count.Table service was excellent and it is child friendlyLots of cosy dining spaces and I think I saw some couches

Had our Christmas staff night here. The car park at the rear was empty, it was after 6pm on a Monday night. Car park very poorly lit and didn’t appear to be any signs. Had never parked here before. A week later 3 of us get parking tickets for £100 each.Merry Christmas. Just not worth visiting places like this when there are parking crooks looking to screw you over. Might as well just drive to the metro centre

Restaurant week. We had an early booking of 5.30pm on a Monday and it was quiet and so staff were very attentive. Only doing the select menu, items came out extremely quickly and we had 3 courses within an hour of arrival. A really nice quirky venue with great decor. Food was probably the best of the week (having got to a restaurant a day during this week!).Pork belly just divine! Lamb ragu in pappardelle pasta, tender and tasty. Chocolate mousse rich and delicious!

Loved it some items were missing off the menu, however what we had was excellent. Service was excellent and cocktails were gorgeous. Gorgeous quirky venue definitely worth a visit.

My wife and I got married here 01/10/23. We booked the whole thing in January 2022. From start to finish it was organised perfectly. Every member of staff we dealt with was friendly and professional and any changes we wanted were done without question and with minimal effort. The venue is a good size for what we needed, 60 guests throughout the day and the same for the evening.It’s intimate, rustic, full of character and a very calming and warm atmosphere. The mismatched chairs, the fireplace, the tables and the general decor adds to the charm of the whole place. We dealt with Meg the day before and day of the wedding. She used our decorations and set out the tables and surroundings perfectly! She was so good to talk to and it was evident she had our best interest at heart, and just wanted us to have the best day.The day ran smoothly, thanks to the staff and their efforts. We didn’t worry about anything and the pre-wedding meetings were efficient and made sure that we had considered and provided instruction for every aspect of the day.I couldn’t recommend this venue anymore. It’s well priced in today’s wedding venue market and I felt we got value for money. Whilst it may not be everyone’s cup of tea, I’d encourage anyone to have a look around the place and see what they thought. The location is great being just outside of the city centre. And having everything happen in one room always goes down a storm with guests.Thank you for making our day everything we wanted it to be.Mick & Charlotte!
