Ive had a breast abscess for six weeks now, I recently have moved but I am struggling to register with a doctors in my new area, the local urgent care here are frankly useless, every time Ive been they cant deal with the abscess and keep sending me 17 miles to the nearest hospital that can help me so at a last resort I called 111, 111 advised me to call my old doctors for an urgent referral the receptionist dismissed 111s advise and told me to go to my urgent care unit (explained to her the above) but still flat out refused to help me, so I guess I just wait for it to burst then? This country is a joke

What a joke of a practice this is! It's literally a nightmare to get through to the receptionists and book an appointment. You have to ring at 8am to get an appointment which I have been trying for 5 days and it's not the first time. The line is always busy (perhaps they keep the receivers down). By the time you manage to get through, you are told we are booked for the day!! If you request for an appointment in advance then you won't get it for the following day as you'll get it in 2 weeks time. Always end up at the walking centre or at the A&E. This place is terribly managed.

I really like the doctors at this practice - I always feel listened to, and they always consult me on the treatment course options, enabling me to make choices about my health. The only recommendation I would have is to install a call line so that patients can call at 8am and form a line on the phone (as currently you just have to keep hitting ‘call again’ for 10-20 mins until you get through).Thank you NHS!

I love the GPs and nurses in this clinic. I was suffering from bad Post-covid symptoms, and after a telephone consultation with my GP, I was advised to have an urgent chest X-ray from one of the main hospitals. However, hospitals were facing staff shortages due to COVID, so I’ve decided to go private. The GP was very accommodating and went the extra mile to sort out my referral which enabled me to go private on the same day (usually GP referral will take 3 days + to write up & type out). I can't thank you enough to all the staff who always go above and beyond to help patients, especially during pandemics. Thank you for putting themselves forward to keep the clinic running and helping people in need.

The receptionists act like you’re begging to be considered serious about your health. I understand protocol is necessary but so is common sense … we’re real people not names on a computer and it would be nice if I didn’t feel anxious to talk to a receptionist…especially when I’m already anxious coming to the gp!

All of the staff (receptionists, nurses and GPs) are brilliant and go out of their way to help. I have been with the surgery for the past year and have been so impressed by the kindness and competence of staff.

I feel very lucky to fall in the catchment of this surgery. I always have positive communication with the receptionists. The doctors are kind, thourogh and helpful, as too are the nurses.

Our experience with this clinic was very bad. We have just moved to the UK with our 1 year old daughter. I tried to register at this clinic after reading all the reviews for the clinics around my area, this one looked better than the others (actually all have bad reviews). The lady who gave me the registration forms was kind and helpful and she told us that it may take up to a month to register. So in my mind, we would be registered in 1 month in worst case. When I visited the clinic on a Monday in the morning with the completed forms, the receptionist lady (this time a different one, and she was rude) told me that she was too busy to register me and asked me just to leave the forms. Later she changed her mind and decided to have a quick look and asked me to correct a few things and that's it. 3 weeks later, I visited the clinic to ask when we would be registered, the same rude lady told me that it would take 4 to 6 weeks. At this point, our daughter had chesty cough for 2 weeks. We waited for another week and visited the clinic on a Monday after seeing that our daughter had no improvement and she had no appetite for more than a week. The same rude receptionist was there and told us that there was no doctor at the clinic and Monday is not doctors' appointment date. (Now it is a surprise, because same lady told me that she was very busy on a Monday 3 weeks ago.) She asked us to visit Beckenham Beacon instead of booking us an appointment within that week. For her, it was better for us to go to emergency with a 1 year old and wait who knows how long, for a condition that is not emergency. And she also told us to be more patient with the registration (we already waited for 4 weeks at this point!).After this, I gave up and decided to try 'GP at hand' for myself. I got registered in 1 day. Then I decided to register my wife and daughter, they also got registered in 1 day and they asked us our daughter's vaccination records. A few days later, we received a notification that our daughter was missing her Men B and C shots and asked us to book appointment. I had very little expectations with 'GP at hand' but it seems they really take it serious and even reviewed all her vaccinations. After getting my wife and daughter registered, I went back to this clinic to inform them that we no longer want to register with their clinic and requested our forms back. The same rude receptionist lady happily pulled out a folder and handed me our forms. It seems they never intended to register us. If they told us in the beginning that they don't take new patients, I wouldn't feel this much frustrated.
